The shop is ready for fall

We love how our newest quilt, A Little Flower, looks hanging in our classroom.  Kay made the sample and said it's the perfect quilt for beginners as well as seasoned appliquers.  Since the pattern repeats, someone who is new to applique will get a chance to practice their technique.  Your $84.95 kit includes the fabrics for the top and binding.  The pattern is by Blackbird Designs and is sold separately.  We are including a photo of the original pattern so you can check your Blackbird library.  Pattern is $12.95. Lynette's Peace and Joy button club is almost sold out

We want to start off by sharing a very sweet Christmas wall hanging.  The embroidery is preprinted on a muslin background which will save time and effort. Your $27.95 kit includes the preprinted muslin, borders, background and backing fabric.  It finishes 12" x 23".

We stitched our sample using Valdani perle cotton size 12 in red; however, it would also be pretty stitched in black or gold.  Let us know if we can assist you in choosing a thread. 

Another fun Christmas themed embroidery piece is "Blessings".  We chose to stitch ours using a variety of threads but it would be equally nice stitched in one color.  Your $22.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top, binding and backing fabric.  Please note - you will have to transfer your pattern to the background fabric.  Kit includes pattern, fabrics for the top, binding and backing fabric. The response to Kay's "Nestled in the Woods" quilt in the most recent issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects took us by surprise.  We are currently sold out of kits but have more fabric on the way.  Unfortunately, the line of fabric Kay chose to use (Hickory Ridge) is not being reprinted so once we make this final cutting we won't be able to make more kits.....I guess what we are trying to say is don't take a long time to decide whether you want this kit because we may be out of stock. The quilt finishes 76" x 86".  Your $139.95 kit includes the fabrics for the top (everything is cotton), borders and binding.  The pattern is not included.  It is available in the fall 2020 issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.  $9.99

Plans for Lynette Anderson new Button Club

The dog days of summer have definitely arrived with no end of the hot temps in sight.  We are very content to get out during the early mornings or late evenings and stay home during the middle part of the day.  Of course, staying inside means more time to create and stitch. We always try to look for the silver lining in each of our clouds.

We're continuing our Christmas in July with a darling wall hanging.  The pattern, ABC Santa, is by Cricket Street Wool but as we often do, we changed the pattern from finishing each block as a pillow to creating a wall hanging.  Your $34.95 kit includes the pattern with our changes, background cottons, wool for applique, borders and binding.  It finishes 24" x 24". 

Our tea towel of the month, Happy Camper would make a darling addition to your campsite.  Your $11.95 kit includes the pattern and tea towel.  Let us know if you'd like us to put together a thread kit containing Valdani perle cotton size 12.  If you're on auto ship to receive a tea towel kit each month, Debby will be processing your order.

We have finalized plans for our newest button club block of the month, Peace and Joy by Lynette Anderson.  The quilt is a mystery so we don't know what the finished quilt looks like.  If you're familiar with Lynette's style, you know she does a lot of applique and embroidery with simple piecing.  Judging by the name and the photo she shared on instagram we know the quilt will include a Santa and trees. The quilt will include 6 of her hand painted buttons.  The finished size is 17" x 23" and the program will run for 6 months beginning Sep 1. The monthly cost will be $23.95 per month which will include the pattern, hand painted button and fabrics (wool if required).  Lynette has also designed a special project available only to club participants.  Once we receive your confirmation and payment information, we will e-mail you the file containing the special project.  It should keep you busy until the program starts. Christmas in July

When 2020 began we had a shop planning meeting and decided this would be the year when we were ahead of the game....we wouldn't wait until November to show holiday or winter themed projects.  We'd planned to have a Christmas in July event complete with snacks and socializing.  Unfortunately, the virus situation caused us to cancel the socializing aspect but we do plan to share some winter/holiday themed projects with you this month.

The first project we want to share is one of the most adorable wall hangings we've seen in a long time.  Your $34.95 Ho Ho Ho kit contains the pattern (with our changes), cotton background fabrics, wool for the applique, borders, binding AND backing fabric.  It also includes the rusty jingle bell, heart and bell.  Our version finishes 14 1/2" x 24".

If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern is available for $10.

Another winter themed project we are super excited about is Warm Wishes.  The quilt was designed by our sweet friend Margott and contains all sorts of appliqued motifs.  Your $94 kit contains all the fabrics needed to make the top, borders and binding.  The pattern is sold separately for $24.95.  We will be happy to help you choose a backing fabric - just let us know the color range you prefer.  The quilt finishes 55" x 55".

New button club

Before we get into sharing, we need to let you know a couple of administrative items.  First, we will be closed Saturday, July 4 for the holiday. Second, beginning July 6 Darlene will not be at the shop on Tuesdays.  If you need to drop off a quilt for quilting or want her help choosing fabrics for a project, please plan to stop by on a Thursday or Saturday.  This will continue indefinitely; we will let you know when things change. Now on to the fun stuff.  We absolutely adore how our version of "Grateful, Thankful and Blessed" turned out.  Those are words we choose to live by every day.  Your $18.95 kit includes the pattern with our modifications, fabrics for the top, wool for applique and binding.  Our version finishes 16 1/2" x 18 1/2".
