We need to clarify our reasons for changing our shop hours.  Last week we were somewhat elusive as to the reasons and that led some people to believe we are going out of business.  We have no plans or thoughts of closing our doors.   Last year Darlene adopted her granddaughter, Skylar.  An almost 8 year old takes a lot of time and energy in the best of times -- throw in covid and how it closed activities she normally would participate in and you have even more energy required.  Since Darlene is home schooling Skylar this year, she isn't able to be at the shop every day we are open.  We looked at our sales and determined Tuesday is the day with the least amount of traffic.....so that's why we will be closed on Tuesdays beginning Sep 1.  We are super excited to share news about the Nestled in the Woods kits.  On a whim Kay contacted Diamond Textiles and found we are able to get more fabric to make more kits.  So, if you called and were told Nestled in the Woods was sold out, please call again.  Kits will be available around Sep 24.  You can also order on our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/  The first quilt we want to share this week is called Dashing Through the Snow.  Your $32.95 kit includes the Winter 2016 issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine, background cotton fabrics, wool for the applique and binding.  It finishes 25 1/2" x 27 1/2".   We're very excited to be a part of the Wooly Block Adventure again this year.  This is the wool equivalent of Quilters Trek (Row by Row).  The adventure runs from Oct 1 through November 30.  This year the theme is "Into the Woods" and we had a lot of fun designing our 8" block.  We are taking preorders for "Woodland Buddies".  Your $19.95 kit includes the pattern, wool background and wool for the applique.  Kits will ship October 1.  If you're looking for a quick, easy and fun quilt "My Christmas Gift" is a great choice.  The price makes it a great choice if you need a hostess gift or a quilting buddy gift or a fun quilt for a loved one in a nursing home or......you get the idea.....  We used Soft Fuse and a simple blanket stitch for our applique.  Your $19.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top and binding.  42" x 42" This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we are featuring our "Sleigh Bells" block of the month.  We have only a couple of spots left in the program so if you've been on the fence about whether to join, please don't delay in making your decision.   The block of the month program runs for 8 months. Each month you'll receive fabric for a block or row along with a schematic showing the use of each fabric contained in the kit. During the 8th month you'll receive fabrics for the sashing, borders, binding and buttons. New shop changes

 

We are starting this week's newsletter by saying we never know where life's journey will lead us.  After a lot of thought we have decided to modify our shop hours.  Starting Sep 1, we will be open on Thursday & Saturday only (9:00-3:00).  We will do our best work work with you or a group if you plan to be in the area on other days.  Please call (479-372-7403) or e-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) us ahead of time and we will our best to work with you.  This was a difficult decision and we hope you understand.   When we saw Betsy Chutchain's line of fabric by Moda we knew we wanted to make a simple quilt to show off the beautiful prints.  Your $38.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top and binding. The quilt finishes 45" x 60". It's not too early to start thinking about stitching for the holidays.  The "Follow me to Bethlehem" table topper was a big hit last year.  We ran out of kits and have made more.  Please note the wools in your kit may vary from those pictured but the substitutions are close matches.  Your $36.95 kit includes the pattern, flannel for the background, wool for applique and binding. 10 1/2" x 33 1/2" Kay's sister has been dealing with some major medical issues culminating with an August 31 scheduled visit to the Mayo Clinic.  During these times it caused us to remember how thankful we are for each other (in case you didn't know Darlene and Debby are sisters).  We thought the "Sister" kit would be a perfect kit to include in our newsletter.  Your $12.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics, lace and vintage buttons.  Please note we purchase these kits pre-made so the contents may not be an exact match to our sample. Nestled in the Woods is almost sold out

Is it just us or does August feel more like May with all this rain?  We aren't complaining but it just seems odd to see so much rain this late in the summer.  Maybe the rain will cause the autumn trees to delight us with shades of amber, rust and gold. 

The response to Kay's quilt featured in the most recent issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects was beyond our expectations.  We have purchased all the fabric we can to make kits and have only 4 kits left.  If you have been on the fence about whether you want this project, please don't hesitate.  The fabrics are out of print and we know we will not be able to make more kits. 

Your Nestled in the Woods kit includes the fabrics to make the quilt top and binding.  The quilt finishes 76" x 86".  $139.95  The pattern is not included in the kit and can be found in the Fall 2020 issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine.  $9.99

Unfortunately, the Ozark Piecemakers Guild in Springfield MO has cancelled their September show.  According to their website, guild members are already preparing for their next show in 2022.  We are SO ready to get back into vending and sharing our creations in person with you!  We're taking a positive attitude and working on our 2021 vending/teaching calendar.

September tea towel is ready

Peter Pumpkin patterns are back in stock.
