New tray kits coming soon

 

The world of retail sometimes makes us feel as though time passes quicker than the calendar shows.  We are well into stitching fall and winter themed projects while celebrating July 4.  In the coming weeks we will be sharing what we've been working on and hope to inspire you to pick up your needle or thread your sewing machine.  The fall issue........yes.......fall......of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine will be out soon.  This week we want to share Kay's project in the magazine as well as the complimentary pieces she designed.  These are all available for pre-order via our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ or by e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com.   All the projects are designed to fit in a cute metal tray we found.  The tray measures 4" x 8" on the bottom; 5" x 9" along the top; 2" high.  The tray is included with the fall project.   If you would like to purchase an additional tray, the cost is $12.95.

Your $24.95 "Autumn Delight" kit includes the tray, background wool, wool for applique, beads and cotton backing fabric.  It finishes 4" x 8".  The pattern is not included.  It is included in the fall issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.  The magazine is $9.99.  When you place your order, please let us know if you'd like to reserve a copy of the magazine.

New quilt by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts

 

Remember just a few months ago when we were shivering and wishing for warmer weather?  Well.....it certainly arrived and seems to be staying for quite some time.  During these summer days, we enjoy sitting on the porch early in the morning and retreating inside once temps rise.  One of our favorite ways to pass the time relaxing is browsing Quiltmania magazines.  We received our shipment of magazines and are excited to share them.   Quiltmania #149 contains 7 projects.  It also includes an article about the 16th Quilt Nihon exhibition.  Quilts accepted into this exhibition are carefully scrutinized.  If you visited the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum, the New England Quilt Museum or the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts last year, you may have seen entries in the 15th Quilt Nihon exhibition.  $14.99 If you're on auto ship for any of the Quiltmania magazines, Debby will be processing your order soon.

Simply Moderne contains 10 projects.  While the projects showcase contemporary fabrics, we like to think outside the box and visualize them using some of our wovens for a more traditional look.  $18.99

This week we're featuring a sweet quilt designed by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts.  Your $89.95 kit for "Sweetheart" includes the pattern, fabrics for the top and binding.  Your kit will include fabrics from Edyta's Sweetheart line and French General fabrics.  The quilt finishes 46" x 55". If you'd like our help selecting backing fabric, please let us know when you place your order.  We have several prints that will be great for the back.   Darlene made our sample and said it's a great project to take along on vacation or to put in your stitching bag for those times when you have a few minutes to devote to stitching.

If you'd like to use the Apliquick method of applique for the Sweetheart quilt, the Apliquick starter kits are back in stock.  The pack includes the rods, a glue stick with one refill and 5 sheets of applique paper. Both rods are pointed on one end; one has a forked end; one has a flat beveled end.  Rods are made of surgical steel.  $58.95 If you'd prefer to use a fusibile product and hand or machine stitch the applique in place, we have Soft Fuse in rolls and sheets.  Rolls contain 18" x 3 yards; sheets contain 10 - 8" x 9".  We haven't seen a price increase in Soft Fuse yet so prices remain $19.95 for a roll and $10 for sheets.

Rebekah Smith patterns and kits

Cute table runner for July 4th

It's hard to believe Memorial Day has passed and July 4 is upon us.  With the holiday right around the corner, we wanted to be sure to share our newest patriotic themed kit.  Americana is super quick and easy to make because it's a panel bordered with sashing.  Your $15.95 kit includes the instructions, panel, border and binding.  It finishes 26" x 46" so is a great size for a table.  Wouldn't it be pretty displayed on a front porch during the season? Panels are a great way to practice big stitch quilting.  We recommend using Valdani perle cotton size 12 for quilting.  If you'd like us to include a ball with your order, please specify what color(s) you'd like.
