We are crazy about toweling from Moda

We ended our vending year with a very nice show in Pryor.  Kay came back with tons of photos of beautiful quilts which inspired us all.  Below are photos of the booth.  If you spy something you'd like more info about, please send us an email (info@sewgracefulquilting.com).
Many people at the show were interested in the toweling Debby used to make the "Nature's Grace" runner.  Since so many were interested, we thought we would share info about the toweling we carry.  It's all from Moda fabrics, 100% cotton and 16" wide.  We recommend washing it before using.

All our toweling is $7.95 per yard.  You may order by visiting our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/index.html, emailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com or calling 479-372-7403.

The first photo shows Nature's Grace - kits are $29.95.  Subsequent photos show the toweling options.
The newest Simply Vintage magazine arrived and it's packed with 20 projects ranging from pieced to embroidery to wool and cotton applique.....there's even a needle punch project included.  The fall issue normally sells quickly so don't wait to reserve your copy.  $17.99

The regular issue of Quiltmania and Simply Moderne magazines are on the way.  If you'd like to preorder them, please let us know.
We are super excited to watch Sharon's progress on our newest block of the month, Manor House.  This program will begin early 2020 but we just can't keep it secret any longer.  We haven't worked out the pricing yet but are taking reservations for this stunning quilt.

Our quilt will use the same background fabric and will have the same feel as Dawn's; however, we will be using our own hand dyed wool in the project.  The quilt finishes 60" x 75".

If you would like to reserve a spot, please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we have one opening left in our block of the month, The Ark.  The quilt is a combination of cotton and wool with embroidery. We have added buttons which will be included with your block of the month. The quilt finishes 34" x 41".
The block of the month runs for 10 months. Each month you'll receive fabric and wool to make a block. During the 10th month you'll receive fabrics for the sashing, borders, binding and buttons. Cost is $12.95 per month plus shipping.
The pattern must be purchased the first month for $22.50. We also have an optional thread kit containing Valdani perle cotton size 12 for an additional charge per month.

If you'd prefer to save shipping costs, we're happy to send the entire quilt kit all at once.
The fall craft fair season is right around the corner.  Since the venue at the Embassy Suites in Rogers closed we won't have a booth; however, the shop will be open extended days during craft fair season.  Mark your calendars -- we will be open Thurs - Saturday, Oct 17, 18 & 19, 9:00-3:00.

We'd also like to share info about the Joplin Area Town & Country Biennial 21st Quilt Show.  The show will be held at the Joplin Memorial Hall, 212 W 8th Street, Oct 5 & 6, 10:00-5:00.  For more info visit  http://www.townandcountryquilters.com/.  Unfortunately, Kay will be out of town so we won't have a booth but hope you will make plans to visit the show.
See you soon.

A quick Halloween quilt

By the time you read this Kay will be on her way to Pryor OK for our last show of the season (unless someone contacts us with a last minute request).   The show is Friday & Saturday, Sep 20 & 21 at the OSU Extension Center, 2200 NE 1st, Pryor OK, 9:00-4:00 both days.  For more info visit http://www.pryorpatchers.com/

We are working on our teaching and vending schedule for 2020.  If your guild or quilt group would like us to visit and present a workshop and/or trunk show please email info@sewgracefulquilting.com.  Also, we absolutely love to vend at quilt events so let us know if we are invited to your event.
This week we want to share a quick, easy and inexpensive way to decorate for Halloween.  Several years ago, Meg of Crabapple Hill designed an adorable embroidered Halloween quilt.  Since many don't have the time or patience for all the embroidery the quilt entailed, she is offering parts of the pattern as a panel.  Your $19.95 "Salem Quilt Show" kit includes the pattern, panel, border fabrics and binding.  The quilt finishes 33" x 51" so is the perfect size to hang on a door.

If you'd prefer to use your own fabrics, we have the panel available for $8.
Since today is supposed to be a tad bit cooler......89 versus 92 degrees......we want to shift gears and share snow.  The first is a cute table topper or small wall hanging featuring snowman fabrics by Primitive Gatherings.  Your $17.95 "Snow Frolic" kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top, borders and binding.  Finishes 21 1/2" x 25".
The Wooly Row by Row program starts Oct 1 so we are taking pre-orders for patterns and kits for our project.  Each year the wooly ladies choose a topic; this year's theme is Holiday Celebrations.  Since it seems like the middle of summer with all the heat and humidity we've had the past couple of months, our thoughts turned to snow as we brainstormed design options......we hope you like our "Celebrating Snow" design.

For more info about the Wooly Row by Row visit https://rowbyrowexperience.com/wooly-block-2/.  Meanwhile, if you'd like to make your own Celebrating Snow 8" mini quilt, you may preorder the pattern and kit on our website.  We can't ship until October 1 but are happy to reserve a kit for you.

Kits include the pattern, wool and cotton backing fabric.  $19.95  If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern is available for $5.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we have some quirky and funny patterns available.....think gifts for friends with a sense of humor.  Each is $5.
We are working hard to get some more projects and blocks of the month done for next year.  If you have a favorite designer, we'd love to hear about them.  We are always looking for new talent.

See you soon.

The 3rd in Deb's series of seasonal table runners

We hope the newsletter this week finds you in the mood for fall decorating because we have a couple of table runners that will look great on any table and a quilt that would complement any fall decor.  The first table runner, Be Thankful, was designed by Debby and is the third in her series of seasonal table toppers.  The first was Spring's Promise and the second was Shooting Star.

Be Thankful features Kansas Troubles' "On Meadowlark Pond" mini charms and wool applique.  Your $17.95 kit includes the pattern, all the fabric to make the top, wool for applique and binding.  It finishes 10 1/2" x 28".  If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern is available for $9.
The second table runner, Thomas the Turkey, features one of the prettiest turkeys we have ever seen on a runner.  We think we did a fabulous job choosing just the right wool to make him come alive.

The background is from Moda's Cottonworks line - fabric that feels like wool but is cotton.  Your $26.95 kit includes the pattern (which is now out of print), background cotton, wool for applique, buttons for eyes and backing fabric.  It finishes 9" x 22".  The pattern is not available for purchase separately.
If you're like us, just looking at "Humble Hands" gets us in the mood for fall and cooler weather.  We love the rich autumn tones we chose for the quilt.  Your $99.95 kit includes Quiltmania magazine #115, fabrics for the top, borders and binding.  The quilt finishes 58" x 70".

Let us know if we can help you choose the perfect back for your quilt.
We have a few extra copies of Blackbird Designs' "Simply Vintage" book which is now out of print.  If you need this title to add to your Blackbird library, now is the time to get it.  We checked Amazon pricing and were shocked to see the title offered for $199.99......we are selling ours for the cover price of $29.95.

If you would like to reserve a copy, please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com ASAP.  First come, first served -- limit one copy per person.  If you haven't ordered from us in the past, go ahead and send an e-mail.  We will need to speak with you to get shipping and payment info so please include your phone number.
Kay will soon be packing for our last vending event of 2019:  the Pryor Patchers Guild show on Sep 20 & 21.  If you'd like her to bring something special for you, please e-mail your request NLT Sep 17.  The show will be held at the OSU Extension Center, 2200 NE 1st, Pryor OK, 9:00-4:00 both days.  For more info visit http://www.pryorpatchers.com/

Sometimes we have to make some very difficult decisions......the Arkansas Village Quilt Show is also on Sep 20 & 21.  Unfortunately with our little staff of 3, we can't be two places at once so will not be able to attend the show in Benton.....but hopefully we will be able to make it next time.  If you'll be in the Benton AR area, why not make plans to visit the show at the Benton Event Center.  For more info, visit http://arvillagequiltshow.com/
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we have a great book to add to your reference library.  "Mastering Machine Applique, 2nd Edition" by Harriet Hargrave contains information about invisible machine applique, satin, blanket stitch and more.  It is hardback and spiral bound which allows it to lay flat.  144 pages $29.95
See you soon.

Photos from Pittsburg KS show

Kay had a great time at the quilt show in Pittsburg last week.  If you stopped by the booth you may have been somewhat surprised by the "cash box" she was using.  We received this text from her:  "Well I goofed big time....I got about 6 miles from Pitt and realized I forgot the money bag.  After my initial panic subsided I decided I'd just run to Walmart and buy something and get $100 cash.  I got my 5 - $20 bills and was able to get change for two of them at the service desk.  Knowing I needed more change, I bought 2 avocados and a nectarine -- running one through the register at a time.  The next morning I got out the cash box which contains the change and quickly realized I couldn't open it because the key is on the money bag which is at the shop........so I improvised."
Below are a few photos from the quilt show.  We thought you'd enjoy seeing the before and after photos.  If you spot something you'd like more info about, send us an e-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com).
Our newest quilt uses Primitive Gatherings' Farmhouse Flannels line.  If computer screens would allow touch sensation, you would quickly realize this quilt is as soft as a box of cotton balls.  It's super quick and easy to make.  Your $49.95 kit includes the fabric for the top and binding.  We used a pretty Diamond Textile homespun on the back of ours and would be happy to help you choose a backing fabric.  Finishes 57" x 66 1/2"
Sometimes we forget to tell you about projects we complete.  Our "At Home" quilt is an example of our forgetfulness.  This is a great quilt for someone who enjoys a little hand stitching, easy applique and super easy piecing.  The quilt contains quotes such as "She looks well to the ways of her household" and "Blessed are those who dwell in your house".  Our friend Jane H made our sample and used the machine blanket stitch method of applique.

Your $56.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top and binding.  The pattern is out of print and no longer available without purchase of the kit.
At the show someone asked about Karen K Buckley curved scissors which prompted us to place an order for a few pair.  Karen says "The benefit of a curved tip is that it allows you to clip close to your fabric without cutting into your quilt top.  These scissors are fabulous for clipping threads for machine quilting, machine applique and machine embroidery.  They have a serrated blade, a very comfortable handle, just like all of our other scissors and a right or left hander can use them with ease."

Scissors measure 3 3/4".  $23.50 - let us know if we can reserve a pair for you
While we were on the website, we noticed Karen has recently released a new multipurpose pair of scissors.  She says this "This is my second pair of straight blade scissors.  After the 5" orange handle multipurpose scissors hit the market I had lots of requests for this type of scissors but with a longer blade.  So, here they are.  They are great for cutting templates (freezer paper, Templar), fabric and fabric with fusible stabilizers.  The blades are stainless steel.  The handles have the same soft, ergonomic grip as our other Perfect Scissors™.  They cut sharp to the point and come with a plastic protective cover.  Great for both right and left hand cutting."

Scissor measure 7 1/2" $29.50 - let us know if we can reserve a pair for you
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we have one of our favorite books jam packed with fall inspiration.  "All for Fall" by Bonnie Sullivan contains projects for lap quilts, table runners, quilts, framed pieces and bags.  80 pages $26.99
We will be back next week with details of several new kits.  We are writing this at home and don't have all the pricing and size details so will wait to share next week.

See you soon.
