We have stitching bags

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.  You guys are the greatest!  We had a nice turnout for the party and lots of e-mails wishing us well and continued success for the future.

Hope you were able to stay warm during our recent Arctic blast.  Some of you may remember Erin who helped at the shop and dyed our wool.  She moved to North Dakota last year and loves the winter weather -- even when the high temps don't even reach 0.  So if you're feeling cold during one of our "balmy" 20 degree days, just think of her.

Our project this week is by Bird Brain Designs.  We adore her snowmen designs; Debby couldn't wait to stitch this pattern when she saw it.  Your $26.95 kit for "Yard of Snowmen" includes the pattern, background fabric, binding, backing and a ball of Valdani perle cotton #12.  It comes packaged in a nice zippered storage bag.  Finished size approximately 10" x 36".

To order, visit our website https://sewgracefulquilting.com/, email info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403.
We now have zippered storage bags.  These are a nice mid-weight plastic with a zippered opening.  Both sizes have gussets which allow the bag to expand.  Exposed edges are covered with binding.

We've included some props in the photos of the bags to give you a perspective of the size -- items are not included in the bag.  The 8" x 10" bag is $3.95.
The 7 1/2" x 7" bag is $2.95.
Our "when it's gone, it's gone" kit this week is by Red Button Company.  "Pinwheel Garden" finishes 11" x 13".  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top, binding and buttons.  Buttons are added to the embroidery in the border.

The first photo below shows the finished wall hanging; the second photo is a close up of the fabrics included in your kit.

If you'd prefer to use your own fabrics, we have a couple of patterns (including buttons) available for $12.95.
We've enjoyed seeing photos from the quilt show in Tokyo this past week.  We thought you might enjoy them also.  https://thequiltshow.com/ has a nice grouping of photos.  Once you're at the website, type "Tokyo" in the search box.

We can't imagine being at a show where attendance was 45,000 in one day.......yeah.......45,000 people.
See you soon!

Happy 8th birthday to us!

This Saturday should be clear so we hope you'll make plans to join us for our 8th birthday party.  When we opened eight years ago, we hoped people would like our primitive look.  You, our friends, have let us know you like what we do.  We appreciate each and every one of you.

The first 40 visitors on Saturday will receive a little goodie bag.  Hours are 9:00-3:00.  We also have a couple of new projects we'll be sharing Saturday including Kay's Sewing Case project which just arrived back from being photographed in West Virginia.

Look how far we've come.....the first two photos are from eight years ago.......the collage is a set of current photos.
We received another shipment of patterns from Margott so everything has been restocked.  We also have a new pattern, From my Heart.  The pattern includes detailed instructions and full size templates to make the quilt.  We also think it would be fun to choose different motifs and make small wall hangings or pillows.  Quilt finishes 55" x 55".  $24.95
This week in our "we have only one kit left" section, we'd like to feature a kit that is so darn cute we can't believe it's still here.  The kit makes 3 projects -- a table runner, a wall hanging and a pillow.  The fabric is Maywood flannel so is super soft.  It is preprinted so with very little sewing you will have three fun projects.  Kit is $34.95.

Please note - the red dot background is just a background....the table runner is pictured on top, then the wall hanging, then the pillow.

Send an e-mail to info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve your kit.
If you're like us, you can never have too many pincushions.  If we're in a quilting slump we find that finishing a quick project helps get us motivated.  This is a quick and easy project.

Your $12.95 kit includes the pattern, background Sandcastle fabric, backing fabric, wool for applique, cotton for the tiny quilt, rick rack, the thread spool and 2 adorable decorative buttons (not pictured).  If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern is available for $8.95.

You can order on line by visiting https://sewgracefulquilting.com/index.html or calling 479-372-7403 or e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com or by stopping by the shop (we wish everyone who reads this could make a stop by our shop to be inspired).
Hope to see you Saturday.

New version of Simply 9 using Diamond Textiles' fabrics

If the forecast holds true, we may be snowed in Saturday and possibly again next Weds.  We have learned to take weather predictions with a grain of salt.....but to always have a project on hand just in case we can't make it out for a day or two.

If you're signed up for our $10 block of the month, Fairytale Cottages, you should have received your first block by now  We were delayed a few days in shipping because our sweet mom was in the hospital with a respiratory infection. She's home now and doing very well.  If you're on the list and haven't received your block, please let us know so we can research the reason.

For more info on the Fairytale Cottages block of the month, please visit our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ and then call us at 479-372-7403 to sign up.
Our shipment of Quiltmania magazines arrived. This issue is packed with great patterns and lots of photos from the Houston Quilt Festival and antique quilts of the British Isles.  It also contains the first part of a mystery quilt by Jen Kingwell.  Usually the issue containing the first pattern of a mystery quilt sells out quickly so let us know if we can reserve a copy for you.  $13.99

If you're on auto ship, Debby has processed your order.  If you're not and would like to be, please let us know.
We also received our shipment of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine.  17 projects - all for only $9.99

We love the quilt on the magazine cover; however, we want to make it in primitive colors.....so much fun to take a pattern and make it primitive.
We often get requests for quilts for men.  While this quilt isn't just for men, we think it's a great option for someone who is looking for something less feminine and cutesy.  It's made with Diamond Textiles using our pattern, Simply 9.  It's super simple and quick to make.

Your $64.95 kit includes all the fabric and binding to make the quilt.  The pattern is sold separately for $8.  The quilt finishes 64" x 80"; however, we will be happy to help you select borders or additional fabrics if you'd like to make it larger.  We also have lots of great fabrics for the back and would be happy to help you choose backing fabric.  Backing fabric is $9.95 per yard.
We have another "last one" kit to share.  This one is perfect for that special friend in your life.  Your $9.95 kit includes the pattern, background fabric and fabric for the heart.  Once it's gone, it's gone so don't delay in letting us know that you want it.
Stay warm during the Arctic blast that is coming this weekend.  See you soon!

New sewing accessory series

This week we have several odds and ends of things to share with you.  It's been quite a while since we sent a long newsletter so grab your warm drink (because winter has returned) and enjoy.

While the shop was closed, Kay spent a day doing some reorganizing.  After we reopened after the holidays, Darlene's sweet granddaughter spent a couple of days helping so if you smell Pledge it's probably because she dusted everything that wasn't nailed down.

Below are photos of the mustard cabinet with small projects, the newly organized pattern wall and the Ackfeld hanger display.
While reorganizing we ran across several onsie kits -- once the kit is gone, we won't be making more.  We will be sharing more of these in future newsletters.  Please e-mail us your choice.  If you're not local, we can contact you for payment info or send an invoice.

The week we want to share "French Wrens" by Dawn Heese.  The quilt finishes 40" x 40".  We used a Jo Morton's Gratitude layer cake to make the quilt.  The kit includes the pattern, layer cake and binding.  $52.95
If you have been searching for layer cakes of Jo's "Gratitude" line we have a couple left.  $39 each
The spring issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine should ship soon.  17 projects ranging from needle punch to rug hooking to piecing to applique. $9.99

Let us know if we can reserve a copy for you.
Kay has created a darling sewing accessories series for the magazine.  The spring issue contains her sewing accessory case.  We love how she incorporated mother of pearl thread holders and needle minders into the project.  Your $46.95 Sewing Accessory kit includes all fabric needed to make the case, wool, stabilizer, twill measuring tape, the mother of pearl thread rings and two needle minders.  The instructions are found in the spring issue of Primitive Quilts magazine which must be purchased separately.

The photos below do not show the needle minders -- they're under the charcoal wool.  You'll see clear photos of them in the magazine.
If you'd like additional needle minders, we have them available for $9.50 each.  Let us know if you'd prefer Bee - the bee - or Buzz - the hive - (or both).  Unfortunately, the mother of pearl thread rings are no longer available so we don't have extra to sell.
Jon our Moda man stopped by on Weds with lots of new fabric.  We have to admit it was kind of overwhelming to be looking at Christmas fabric right now.  The fabric world runs about 6 months ahead of time so we ordered fabric to be shipped in June.  We'll share some photos once the fabric is updated on the Moda site.

We'd seen the new panels Moda is offering in the catalog but were quite shocked when we saw how large the image actually was once printed.  Notice the water bottle to the right of the panel to give you an idea of the scale.....this little snowman was huge!
One other item before we close......Kay will be in Ponca City OK Feb 4 for a wool trunk show and Feb 5 for a wool workshop.  For more info please contact Colleen Patterson 580-761-4293.
See you soon!

New primitive stitching group is forming

Welcome 2019!  We're happy you're here and hope the new year is filled with health and happiness.  We realize many are still enjoying time with family and friends so will keep the newsletter short again this week....but we have a couple of items we just can't wait to share with you.

We are super excited to share the news that we have kits ready for the "Four Seasons" table topper.  Your $54.95 kit includes all fabric to make the topper (including the tabs), wool (the birds and rabbit are wool), backing fabric and binding.  The quilt finishes 30" in diameter.

The pattern is sold separately for $22.95.
Kay has wanted to start a primitive group for several years and decided 2019 is the year to kick it off.  So....every Thursday beginning Jan 10 will be devoted to anyone with a love of the primitive look.  If you're a quilter or rug hooker or needle puncher who just can't get enough of the primitive look, make plans to join us each Thursday 10:00-12:00ish.  We have a refrigerator so you're welcome to bring drinks and food and make a day of it.

It'll be a time to enjoy each other's company -- no formal class, no fee to join, no need to make a reservation.
We will be back next week with more to inspire and some shop photos after our new year tidy up.  See you soon!
