Christmas Table Runner

What beautiful weather we enjoyed the beginning of this week but the rainy weather we are experiencing today along with cooler temps remind us winter is just around the corner.  We can't say we love snowy weather but have to admit it is appealing to think about staying inside and stitching the day away......speaking of stitching.......we want to share an adorable stitched piece, Christmas Garland Table Runner by Hatched and Patched.

Your $32.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top, and binding.  If you'd like to use the same Valdani perle cotton size 12 Debby used to stitch hers, please let us know when you place your order.  We are including some close up photos so you can see just how sweet this piece really is.  It finishes 14 1/2" x 43".

If you'd prefer to use your own materials, the pattern is available for $14.
On the other end of the cuteness spectrum is the sweetest little stuffed owl pincushions.  These measure about 2 1/2" high.  The photo shows them made with wool but they also can be made with cotton fabrics.  The pattern contains easy to follow instructions.  Darlene and her granddaughter made a couple of these and enjoyed the process.  What a great gift for a special friend!  The "Owl Friends" pattern is $6 (we will be happy to put together a kit if you would like -- just let us know the colorway and we'll take it from there).

It's been a while since we featured fun buttons so we thought we'd share some seasonal buttons this week.

Peppermint Candy - shank on the back - 1" - $2.30 per pack

Oh Deer - shank on the back - 3 buttons - $2.30 per pack
Snowflakes - 14 buttons - sew through (no shank) - $2.30 per pack

These buttons are great additions to winter themed projects.  Since they have no shank they fit snuggly against the project background.
Spooky Stars - 12 buttons - shank on the back - $2.30 per pack
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring a pretty fall pillow.  Your $22.95 kit for "Bits and Pieces Fall Pillow" includes the pattern, background cotton, wool for applique, binding and backing fabric.  Our pillow finished 11" x 15 1/2".

We have only a few kits left so don't delay in ordering by e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com.

See you soon.

Turkey Lurkey is ready to ship

Another fall craft fair week and vending season is in the books.  We enjoyed visiting with many of you at the shop; Kay enjoyed visiting with lots of people at the Claremore show.  Below is a photo of the booth at the show - for more detailed pics be sure to click on the Instagram or FB links.
One of the top two selling items at the show was our newest kit - Turkey Lurkey designed by Maggie Bonanomi.  We chose a Moda grunge as our background fabric and bordered with a Diamond Textile fabric.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, cotton background, wool for applique, border and binding.  Finishes 16" x 17".

We needed to replace our owl scissors stock so ordered more needle minders when we placed the order.  These made great unique Christmas gifts.  Each needle minder contains two magnets so they are easily placed on whatever you happen to be stitching.  You'll never misplace a needle again.

Each measures approximately 1.75" x 1.25" - $9.50 each

Folkart Crow
Folkart Willow Tree

Several months ago Kay took apart some of our blocks of the month and packaged them as kits.  The Autumn Quilt kit would be a fun quilt to work on during this beautiful time of the year.  Your $269.95 kit includes patterns with full size templates, background cottons, wool for applique, borders and binding.

The quilt finishes 58" x 72".

Some cottons and/or wools may differ slightly from our sample but will be a close match.

This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring a fun little notepad.  It contains a pad of 75 sheets and a pen. 3/4" x 4" x 8" - $5.95

We have only one left so don't delay in ordering by e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com.

See you soon.

More ornaments for your tree

As you read this Kay is on the way to set up at the Claremore OK show.  It's a bittersweet feeling as this is our last vending event for 2021.  We have enjoyed being out among quilters this year and hope to continue vending next year.  The Claremore show will be held at the Claremore Community Center, 2301 N Sioux on Oct 15 (9-5) and Oct 16 (9-4).

Our shipment of Quiltmania magazines arrived.  Issue #145 contains 7 projects as well as a collection of historical quilts to inspire you.  $13.99  If you're on autoship, Debby has processed your order.

Sigh.....wouldn't that cover quilt be beautiful made using Diamond Textiles......
Our Christmas tree is starting to look more like a "real" tree with the addition of more ornaments.  Debby stitched the set of ornaments from the Deck the Boughs pattern by Kathy Schmitz.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, fabric, wool for backing, candy cane twine and the wooden mounting discs.  Kathy's instructions are super easy to follow so you'll be able to easily finish all twelve in time for holiday decorating.

The photos below show the pattern cover, two of our samples and the kit.

We are taking pre-orders for the most recent issue of Simply Moderne #26.  The magazine contains instructions for 13 projects including the darling owl quilt pictured below.  $18.99

This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring a a kit to make a sweet little purse.  We had planned to offer kits for this project; however, the pattern designer is in Australia and mailing to and from Australia has been suspended.  Your $19.95 "Shoe Money" kit includes the pattern, fabrics to make the purse and the purse hardware.

We are ahead of the game

We are super happy today because we are ahead of the 8 ball.....sometimes it feels like we are constantly playing catch up.....but not today.  We have kits ready to ship for Kay's project in the upcoming issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine.  The magazine won't be out for a few weeks but since we are ahead of the game we are going to go ahead and offer kits for "Twice as Nice".

Your $79.95 kit includes fabrics for the quilt top and the binding (in either the blue or red colorway).  Fabrics for both colorways include fabrics from Primitive Gatherings.  Both quilts finish 54" x 54".  The pattern is not included and is available in the Winter issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine.  $9.99

Let us know if we can help you choose a backing fabric when you place your order.  If you need the Winter issue of the magazine, we will hold your kit and ship both the kit and magazine in one shipment to save postage costs for you.
Sadly it's starting to feel like our fall foliage may not be as colorful as in past years.  Our "Autumn Reflection" kit has many of the colors we enjoy seeing this time of year.  Your $36.95 kit includes the pattern, background flannel, wool for applique, binding and backing fabric.  Please note some wools may not be exact matches to our sample.

Finishes 14 1/2" x 14 1/2"

Another fun fall project is "What a Hoot" by Erin Bush.  Your $28.95 kit includes the pattern, background fabric, wool for applique and borders.

15 1/2" x 15 1/2"

The annual fall craft fair season is only a week away - October 14-17.  We will be open regular hours Thursday, Oct 14 and Saturday, Oct 16.  We have restocked our sample sale area and have lots of nice pieces available for sale - quilts, table runners, framed pieces, wall hangings, pillows, and tote bags.  Below are photos of just a sampling.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring Autumn Harvest by Buttermilk Basin.  The pattern includes full size templates to make the quilt pictured which is 55" x 56".  The pattern could be split into smaller projects if you don't need another large quilt -- the pumpkin man would make a darling door hanging for your front door; the autumn word and the wheelbarrow blocks would make cute pillows; the blocks along the bottom could be split into pillows or table mats; the center block would make a pretty framed piece.....you get the idea.....it's a very versatile pattern.  $36
