New button club

Before we get into sharing, we need to let you know a couple of administrative items.  First, we will be closed Saturday, July 4 for the holiday. Second, beginning July 6 Darlene will not be at the shop on Tuesdays.  If you need to drop off a quilt for quilting or want her help choosing fabrics for a project, please plan to stop by on a Thursday or Saturday.  This will continue indefinitely; we will let you know when things change. Now on to the fun stuff.  We absolutely adore how our version of "Grateful, Thankful and Blessed" turned out.  Those are words we choose to live by every day.  Your $18.95 kit includes the pattern with our modifications, fabrics for the top, wool for applique and binding.  Our version finishes 16 1/2" x 18 1/2". Since we used Jo Morton fabric for the borders and binding on the project above, it's only fitting to share photos of her new book.  "Tried and True" includes patterns for 13 quilts.  This is a follow-up to Jo's Hearth and Home book.  96 pages $28.99 Our copies of Dawn Heese's new book, Flowering Folkart arrived.  If you were on the preorder list, Debby has processed your order.  If you didn't preorder but would like a copy of the book we have some available.  The book includes patterns in Dawn's typical style including quilts, table runners, cushions and other needlework of varying difficulty.  As a bonus, Dawn shares her needle turn appliqué, wool appliqué and punch needle techniques.  $48.95 The summer issue of Simply Vintage is packed with 20 summer themed projects ranging from embroidery to applique to piecing.  The magazine will not be available at the big box stores but we bought extra copies to accommodate you.  $18.99 We have been invited to participate in Lynette Anderson's newest mystery button club, Peace and Joy.  Before we jump in and commit to it we wanted to get your reaction.  The quilt is a mystery so we don't know what the finished quilt looks like.  If you're familiar with Lynette's style, you know she does a lot of applique and embroidery with simple piecing.  Judging by the name and the photo she shared on instagram we know the quilt will include a santa and trees. The quilt will include 6 of her hand painted buttons.  The finished size is 17" x 23" and the program will run for 6 months. We are working on pricing but anticipate the monthly cost to be less than $25 per month which will include the pattern, hand painted button and fabrics (wool if required).  Lynette has also designed a special project available only to club participants.
