A good replacement for Soft Fuse fusible

Kay had a great time last week in Claremore sharing her love of wool applique.  This week she's on the road to Pittsburg KS for the 35th annual quilt show.  The quilt show will be held in Memorial Hall Sep 1 9:00-5:00 and Sep 2 9:00-4:00.  For more information, please visit https://littlebalkansfestival.com/quilt-guild-quilt-show.

Sheep and quilts just seem to go hand in hand.  This week we are sharing a new wall hanging featuring piecing and wool applique.  The designer, Cottage Rose, has done a wonderful job explaining how to piece the quilt.  The wool sheep add an additional layer of dimension.....plus they are darn cute!  Your $39.95 kit for "Shepherd Hill" includes the pattern, cotton fabrics for the top, wool for applique, buttons and binding.  Finishes 24" x 28".

Please note some fabrics have will not be exactly like our sample; however, we have provided a close substitute.

We featured the sweet bird wall hanging several weeks ago but in case you missed it....Your $29.95 "Peace Pillow" kit includes the pattern with our changes, linen for background, wool for applique, borders and binding. Finishes 16 1/2" x 23".

If you use Soft Fuse, you likely have noticed it is very scarce.  The owner of the company suffered a stroke in May and production has been halted.  We spoke with her about a month ago and she was hoping to start production later this year.  Meanwhile, we have tested fusible products to find a suitable substitute.  After a lot of misses, we think we have found a good substitute.

Wonder Fuse by Clover is a paper backed fusible.  According to the package it is useful for appliqué on apparel, quilts, embroidery, home decor and crafts. We found it works well on both cotton and wool projects.

It is available in a package of 10 - 8" x 9" sheets for $10.  It is also available on a roll - 3 yards 18" wide for $23.50.

This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section are featuring a kit for Blackbird Gathering designed by Cheri Payne.  Cheri passed away several years ago, so this is an out-of-print design.  Your $137.99 kit includes the Simply Vintage magazine containing the pattern, fabric, wool, borders and binding.  The quilt finishes 34 1/2" x 39 1/2".

The quilt is a combination of wool applique on cotton backgrounds along with some easy pieced blocks.

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.

This week for our Sample Sale, we are featuring 1933 Pumpkin Hill.  This was the piece Kay designed for the 2022 Wooly Row by Row program.  It finishes 8" x 8" and would be sweet hanging on an Ackfeld stand.  She didn't finish the outer edge in case you'd prefer to use it as a center block of a wall hanging or quilt.  The background is cotton and applique is wool.  We are including some close up photos to show you how pretty the stitching looks.  $60 plus shipping

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.
On a side note -- the Wooly Row by Row program has been suspended for 2023.  Earlier this year the coordinator's son-in-law was struck by an auto while helping a friend with a disabled vehicle.  Needless to say, she has a lot on her plate right now.  We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

On a second side note -- notice the rounded photos.....we learned the editing program we use to write the weekly newsletter offers the option to round the corners of photos.....it's the little things that make us smile.
Hope to see you soon.
