New block of the Month - Jan Patek Snow Day

Kay had a great time at the show in Pittsburg and soon will be heading west to Pryor OK for the Pryor Patches show.  She will be packing Sep 15 so please email info@sewgracefulquilting.com by Sep 14 is there is something you'd like her to bring.

The show is Sep 17 & 18 (9:00-4:00) at the Mayes County Event Center, 2200 NE 1st Street in Pryor.  If you haven't had a chance to purchase a ticket to be in the running to win the guild opportunity quilt, you may do so at the show.  For more info visit https://pryorpatchers.org/quilt-show/.

We shared our newest block of the month, Snow Day, at the show.  We have openings and are taking reservations for the program which will begin Oct 1.  Snow Day was designed by Jan Patek as a large quilt done in cotton......we shrunk the pattern to appx 35" x 37" and used wool for the applique.  Your block of the month kit will contain the pattern with the reduced size templates, background cottons, wool for applique, borders, binding and buttons.

Cost is $14.95 per month (plus shipping) for 7 months.  Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403 to sign up.

Do you like a nicely organized stitching bag?  Or do you ever look in your stitching bag and think where in the world is my wool applique needle or my embroidery needle or my binding needle?  We have played that game many times but the game is over with our newest item.

We now can organize our needles into the cutest cork stoppered glass bottles.  We are currently using a sharpie to write the needle type and number on the bottle but are thinking it will be worthwhile to embroider a little tag for each bottle.  If you'd like to organize your needles, we have bottles available for 65 cents each.  Bottles measure 3 1/2" tall.  We tried to get a good photo but are obviously better quilters than photographers -- the bottle is clear glass.

We have sturdy shipping boxes and wrapping paper so feel comfortable in mailing them if you don't live in the area.
This week we want to share a couple of Christmas related projects.  The first is Home for Christmas. If you've followed us very long you know it is very common for us to make changes to a pattern.....we modified this cute pattern to create a 15 1/2" x 15 1/2" wall hanging.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern with our changes, background fabric, wool for applique, border fabrics, binding, and hand painted button by Lynette Anderson.  The second photo below shows the reindeer button which is included in the kit.  We are not able to get additional buttons.
The Stitcher's Ornaments kit was very popular at Pittsburg.  Your $18.95 kit includes the pattern.....yes.....we changed it, 2 1/2" paper piecing papers, fabrics for the front and back of each ornament, hanging ribbon and buttons.

The second photo below shows the ornaments hanging in the booth.  On a side note, if you study the photo you will probably see a sign which says No Photos and think how odd for us to share a photo when it's obvious we didn't want photos to be taken.  Several years ago we had a big problem with people coming to our booth and taking extreme close ups of our samples.  When we asked if we could help them the comment always was "No.  I'm taking a photo so I can go home and make the project without having to buy a pattern."  So we decided we'd just not allow photos to stop the problem.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring our Follow me to Bethlehem kit.  Your $36.95 kit includes the pattern, flannel for background, wool for applique, and binding.

10 1/2" x 33 1/2"

We have only one kit left so don't delay in e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve yours.

Debby is on vacation so Darlene and Kay will be minding the store this week.  Hope you'll pop in and say hello.
