We are writing this while skies are cloudy and rain is falling. We feel very fortunate our temperatures are above freezing. We know many of you are enduring icy roads and power outages. It seems awful early for this weather.
We're beginning this weeks newsletter with a pretty fall pillow. Of course, you could easily finish your piece as a small quilt or wallhanging. Our pillow finished 11" x 15 1/2". Your $22.95 Bits and Pieces pillow includes the pattern, background cotton, wool for applique, binding and backing fabric.
If you'd prefer to use your own materials, the pattern is available for $9. The pattern also includes templates to make a winter pillow.
"Pumpkin Party" makes us smile each time we look at it. We have a few patterns available for $9. It finishes 12" x 17".
We consider "Autumn Reflection" a timeless fall piece. Your $36.95 kit includes pattern, background flannel, wool for applique, binding and backing fabric.
It finishes 14 1/2" x 14 1/2"
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we are featuring a nice preprinted panel. This would be a great project to practice machine or hand quilting techniques. Your $17.95 kit includes the panel, binding and backing fabric. Panel measures 23" x 43".
Can you believe we are in the second half of October? It seems like fall is flying by with 2021 on the horizon.
We enjoy all issues of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine but think this winter issue is particularly great....just look at that adorable cover project. The magazine also contains Kay's Cabin in the Cabins quilt. If you're on auto ship, Debby is processing your order. If you'd like to purchase a copy, please visit https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/. $9.99
Since the Dallas show for 2021 has been cancelled, we thought it would be fun to put together some fat quarter bundles of Diamond Textile fabrics. Each bundle contains 5 fat quarters and costs $13.75. At that price, they'd make great gifts for stitching friends or stocking stuffers for the fellow quilter in your life.
Some of the bundles contain out of print fabrics so if we sell out of our first cutting, we may have to substitute a similar fabric.
If you'd like yardage of any of these beauties, let us know.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we are featuring a cute kitty pillowcase kit. We used the sausage roll method to make our sample. With this method all seams are enclosed so you don't have any raw edges to ravel. We have 2 kits left - $12.95 each. The sample pillowcase is also available for $16.95.
If you do any on-line ordering you probably have noticed a major slow down in receiving shipments. We face the same issue with our suppliers. We finally have tea towels back in stock. Our October tea towel "Happy Halloween" is ready to ship. $11.95 includes the pattern and tea towel.
We also have the November tea towel "Thankful" ready for shipment. Cost is also $11.99 which includes the pattern and tea towel.
Quiltmania #139 also finally arrived. As usual, it's packed with projects sure to inspire you. $14.99
We were very disappointed to learn all AQS shows the the Road to CA for 2021 have been cancelled. On a bright note, we were invited to the Kansas City Regional Quilt Show scheduled for June 17-19. Of course, we said yes. For more info about the show visit https://kcrqf.com/.
We also have been approved for A Mountain Quiltfest in Pigeon Forge TN scheduled May 5-8. For more info about the show and the surrounding area visit https://www.mypigeonforge.com/.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we are featuring the remaining stock of Wool Works magazines. The editors are retiring after the Winter 2020 issue. This is their statement from their website: "With joy and sadness, I am announcing that Wool Works magazine is retiring with the upcoming Winter/Holiday 2020 issue. Although the magazine is doing well thanks to the great readership base, Covid taught me a few things this year, the biggest of which is that time is precious. I want to get back to enjoying a cup of coffee in the early morning and stitching a project by the fire in the evening, and I want to spend more time with my family and friends." We wish them the best.
All remaining Wool Works magazines are $10.99. We have 2018 Spring, Summer (Vol 2, Issue 2), Fall. 2019 Spring, Summer.
Kay is working on the $10 block of the month for 2021. We are planning to make some changes to the program and can't wait to share. Hope to see you soon!
We have enjoyed visiting with many of you as you're out and about enjoying these beautiful fall days. Although we have changed our hours and are open only Thursday and Saturday, we are always happy to accommodate visitors on other days. If you or your quilting group plan to be in the area, please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com and we will be happy to work with you to open on alternate days.
To kick off this weeks' newsletter we want to share a design by one of our favorite small quilt designers, Red Button Quilt Company. Your $24.95 Snowy Nights kit includes the pattern, fabrics, wool, buttons and backing fabric to make both small quilts. As you can see, the "Snowy Nights" quilt has 4 snowman buttons which are included; the snowmen on the "All is Calm" quilt are wool. Both finish 5 1/2" x 10 1/2".
If you'd prefer to use your own materials, we have the pattern and button pack available for $12.95.
Both the heart and clothes hanger are available for $3.95 each. Let us know if you'd like us to include a hanger when you place your order.
We are super excited about Kay's quilt in the upcoming issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine. It's a combination of easy piecing and wool applique. We are taking preorders now and hope to have kits ready to ship by Oct 26.
Cabin in the Cabins finishes 42 1/2" x 42 1/2". Your $64.95 kit includes the fabrics for the top, binding and wool for applique. The pattern is not included in the kit but is available in the winter issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects magazine for $9.99.
We found a few more Salem Witch Quilt kits and since Halloween is just around the corner wanted to feature them. Your $19.95 kit includes the preprinted panel, borders and binding. We normally aren't a big fan of preprinted panels but this one is very nice. The colors are deep and the printing is sharp. We've included some closeup photos.
33" x 51"
Last but not least is Debby's pattern "If the Shoe Fits". This pattern is exclusive to Sew Graceful. Your $26.95 kit includes the pattern, fabric for top, wool for shoes, binding, backing fabric and buttons for the shoes.
13" X 27"
If you'd prefer to use your own materials, the pattern is available separately for $9.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we are featuring a cute embroidery piece designed by Jo Ann Mullaly. When we think of primitive Jo Ann definitely comes to mind. Unfortunately, she left the designing world several years ago so her patterns are out of print. We love the whimsical rhyme along the border "Trick or treat....smell my feet....give me something good to eat".
Your $19.95 kit includes the out of print pattern, sandcastle fabric for stitchery (the color is actually a nice toasty color), borders, binding, and flannel for backing.
