New season brings new hand dyed wool

Mother Nature has quite a sense of humor......we have a relatively balmy winter with days into the 60s and 70s and then the first day of spring is very windy and chilly with snow in some parts of the country.  It probably won't be long before she catches up with herself and every day feels like spring.

We had a terrifically absolutely fun Wednesday afternoon.  We bought new hand dyed wool.......
.....and more hand dyed wool.......
......and decided to buy hand dyed velvet because you've asked for it.  We have patterns that we can't wait to try with our new selection.
We changed out our fabric display that faces the front door and thought it would make a pretty backdrop for photographing some spring projects.  "Spring has Sprung" is a quick and fun project designed by Staci of Buttermilk Basin.  We finished ours as a pillow but it would be equally sweet as a wall hanging or the center of a larger quilt.  Your $10.95 kit includes the pattern, background fabrics, wool for applique, and backing fabric.
Our shipment of Quiltmania magazines arrived.  Issue 112 is packed full of projects to please everyone.  If you're a new newsletter subscriber, you may not realize we offer an automatic program for all our magazines.  Signing up is a sure way to make sure you don't miss an issue -- we'll reserve your copy so you don't have to worry about whether you'll be able to get a copy.  E-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call (479-372-7403) and we'll get you set up.

As always, the magazine is $13.99.

Have you heard of Quilt Dots?  If not, don't feel like you're alone.  We hadn't heard of them until our fabric rep stopped by recently.  Each 1" Dot has a secure magnetic back.  The set comes in a nice hinged metal box.  We plan to add to our collection but for the time being have Jo Morton designs.  Set of 9 magnets (including the box) is $18.
We sold out of Treasures from the Barn and Ratsburg Road Quilts but have more on the way.  Let us know if we can reserve a copy for you.

As we learn about quilt events, we love to share them with you.  Last week we shared info about the Eureka! Quilters Guild show May 6 & 7.  This week we'd like to share info about the Ozark Country Quilters' show Friday, April 1, 9-6 and Sat, April 2, 9-3.  The show theme "A Quilt Makes Your Nest a Home" sounds very appropriate for this time of year.  The show will be held at Crowder College, 4020 N Main, Cassville MO.  Admission is only $5 and children under 12 are admitted free.  If you'd like more info, please contact Karen Mainar at 417-271-1053.

One other note before we close.  If you'd like to read previous issues of our newsletter, please visit our blog http://sewgraceful.blogspot.com/  You can sign up to receive notifications when we update our blog -- we notice we have 5 followers so are pretty excited about that.......you have to start somewhere and 5 followers are better than 1.

With that, we will close and wish you a happy Easter.
See you soon.
