Holiday gift ideas

If you're like us, it's hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week.  It seems like just a few months since we were thinking about what we wanted to accomplish in 2019.  We have a lot to share this week, so will jump right in with lots to tempt you.

Do you struggle with keeping your seam allowances the same width?  This problem plagues both quilters who rely on the 1/4" seam allowance as well as those who make garments and use the 5/8" seam allowance.  A stiletto may be the solution to all your seam allowance problems.  The stiletto acts as a 3rd hand and helps guide the fabric through the feed dogs.

While the patchwork is easy on the next piece we want to share, a stiletto will help keep seams straight.  Your "All Hearts" kit includes the pattern (with our changes), fabrics for the quilt top, wool for applique, borders, binding and the darling handpainted reindeer button.  It finishes 15 1/4" x 15 1/4".  Kit is $24.95. Since we know several will ask, we do not have any extra reindeer buttons available.

Our version of "Christmas Night" finishes 20 1/2" x 24".  The designer finished hers in a frame but we wanted a less formal look for ours so finished it as a wall hanging.  Our background fabric is a pretty Grunge fabric from Moda. Your $22.95 kit includes the pattern with full size templates, fabrics for the top and binding.  When you order, let us know if we can put together a thread kit for you.  We used Valdani perle cotton size 12 and love how it looks.

We had a lot of fun making the next piece.  The designer finished hers as pillows but we wanted something to hang on the wall or on the back of a door so finished ours as a 24" x 24" wall hanging. Your "ABC Santa" kit includes the out of print pattern with our changes, fabrics for the top, wool for applique, borders and binding.  Kit is $39.95

This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we are featuring "Angels Gather Here".  As you can see, we finished ours as a pillow but it would be equally cute finished as a wall hanging.  Your $21.95 kit includes the patterns with our changes, fabrics for the top and backing fabric.  We finished ours to fit an 18" x 18" pillow form.

New kits from our open house

Last Saturday was the perfect day for our holiday open house.  We had a great turnout and enjoyed visiting with everyone who stopped by.

The recent winter weather reminded us to remind you of our inclement weather policy.  If the Rogers schools are closed, the shop is closed.  Of course, you're always welcome to call before you come if there is a doubt as to whether we are open. 

"Let it Snow" was a big hit at our open house event.  As promised, we saved some kits to share with you.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the mini quilt and the ornament, wool for applique and the darling snowman buttons.  The quilt finishes 9 1/2" x 11 1/2".

Kay's newest design "In the Meadow" is designed to fit in the large metal trays we've had in the past.  Your $39.95 kit includes the background flannel, wool for applique, buttons, backing fabric and wool binding.  It finishes 12" x 21 1/2". If you're looking for a project that is all cotton, Merry and Bright would be a fun project.  It features simple applique, easy piecing and a little embroidery.  Your $19.95 kit includes the pattern and all fabrics to make the quilt top (binding is included).  It finishes 19" x 25".

Camp Runamuk is back

It looks like our beautiful fall foliage is quickly turning to brown.  We'd hoped the remaining trees would surprise us with the rich golds and oranges we love so much.

We are in the middle of preparing for our holiday open house event this Saturday, Nov 9, 9:00-3:00 so will keep this short.  For those who can't attend, we will have new projects to share next week.....we promise we will make more if we sell out on Saturday.

Camp Runamuk kits are now back in stock.  Your $159.95 kit includes the pattern with full size templates, background cottons, wool for the applique, borders and binding.  The quilt finishes 48" x 56".  What a great Christmas gift -- either given as an entire kit or as a finished quilt.
