The little things make us happy

Sometimes the little things in life bring us the most happiness......a few weeks ago we had our plumber out for a repair.  While he was at the shop, we asked him to install a water heater in the bathroom.  If you've ever washed your hands at the shop during the winter you know the water can be very cold.  In fact, Kay's commented many times that our tap water is colder than water coming out of the tap on top of Pike's Peak.  Next time you're at the shop, feel free to enjoy a nice warm hand wash......remember it's the little things......

The recent rainy weather has likely kept you inside and, hopefully, stitching.  If that's the case, you may be looking for a new project.  We have several to share this week.

Debby did a beautiful job on "He Restores".  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, fabric for the top, binding, wool, backing fabric and small red flower buttons.  It finishes 14" x 19 1/4".  We love the hanger she chose and have it available for $14.95.  Let us know if we can reserve a kit and/or hanger for you.
We're sad to see Lynette Anderson's Seaside Town block of the month end.  The final shipment goes out in April.  Now that the program has ended, Lynette is offering the entire pattern set.  The Seaside Town set includes 12 patterns with buttons -- please note -- the buttons included in the pattern set are unpainted raw wood.  The quilt finishes 34" x 44".  Price for the complete pattern set is $168 (no fabric is included).
The summer issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine will arrive in a couple of weeks.  If you're on auto ship, we will process your order as soon as we receive the magazine.  If you're not on auto ship and would like to be, please e-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403 and we'll get you on the list.

We love doing the math to find out the cost per project - 16 projects contained in a $9.99 magazine makes each project cost 63 cents.
"High on the Hilltop" is Kay's project in the summer issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine.  We have kits ready to pick up or be mailed.  Your $34.95 kit includes fabric for the top and binding - you will need the  magazine for the pattern.  This is the second in a series of seasonal table toppers - the spring project was "Bees in the Meadow"  which is pictured in the second photo below (kits are $38.95 - you will need the spring issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine for the pattern).

Let us know if you'd like to reserve a magazine or kit(s) by emailing info@sewgracefulquilting or calling 479-372-7403.
Thread kits for both table toppers are also available.  Both contain Valdani perle cotton size 12.  The High on the Hilltop kit includes 4 balls of thread (1, PT2, O506, 200) and is $19.80.  The Bees in the Meadow thread kit includes 6 balls (JP6, O563, 311, JP7, P4, O511) and is $29.70.  Let us know if you need either (or both) kits and we'll include them with the kit.
As you're planning your spring outings, don't forget to include a visit to the Ozark Country Quilters show April 6 (9:00-6:00) and April 7 (9:00-4:00) at Crowder College, 4020 N Main, Cassville MO.  Kay will be vending at the show.  Due to a scheduling conflict, we will not be vending at the Springfield MO show this fall so the Cassville show is the last time we'll be in Missouri for the year.......a good excuse to plan a Missouri road trip.

Two area shows are scheduled April 13 & 14.  The Calico Cut-Ups Guild of Bella Vista AR show will be held at the Bella Vista Assembly of God Church, 1771 Forest Hills Blvd, Friday 9:00-6:00 & Sat 9:00-4:00.  For more info visit http://www.calicocut-ups.org/

The Muskogee Area Quilters Guild show will be held at the St Paul Methodist Church, 2130 W Okmulgee, Muskogee OK, 9:00-4:00 on Friday and Saturday.  For more info e-mail Pegge at mdcond@aol.com or call her at 707-694-9468.  You can also visit the guild on Facebook  (Muskogee Area Quilters Guild).
See you soon!

Mrs Hen is back

Although spring officially arrived Tuesday we've felt spring in the air for several weeks.  Daffodils, tulips peeking through the earth, puffy white clouds and our first sighting of a bluebird signals spring to us.  We are hoping this beautiful jacket weather lasts for several weeks.

Several of you were disappointed at the Dallas show when we sold out of  Mrs Hen Needlecase kits.  Good news - they're back in stock.  Your $37.95 kit includes the pattern by Lynette Anderson, fabrics to make the project, wool for applique and hand painted buttons.

The top photo shows Lynette's case inside and out.  The second photo shows our version including the wool for applique.  We are out of the original fabrics so the bottom photo shows the replacement fabrics:  the blue fabric is the outer cover, the linen look cream is the stitchery background, cream with brown is the inside and brown is the pocket.  The new version has brown chickens instead of black.
As many of you know we design patterns for those who want a pretty quilt but don't have a lot of time to invest in making one.  We've created "A Simply Dozen" kits in 2 colorways:  Reflections by Jo Morton & Eggplant Elegance.  Your $52.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top and binding.  The quilt finishes 50" x 64".  We'll be happy to help you select backing fabric for an additional $9.95 per yard.

The fabric to the left in the detailed photos is the binding fabric.
As we put away things from the Dallas show, we discovered a treasure.  We have sets of Quiltmania magazines containing Yoko Saito's mystery quilt.  The quilt in contained is issues #117, #118 & #119 - we've bundled them and are offering them at a special price of $29.95 (regular price $41.97).

This quilt is show stopping beautiful - Kay saw it in person in Houston.  It finishes 65" x 71".

Don't hesitate in ordering a magazine bundle -- we have only 4 sets available.  Email (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403 and we'll either hold your magazine set for pick up in the store or ship them to you.
The spring issue of Punch Needle & Primitive Stitcher is filled with all sorts of spring inspiration.  Cost is $8.99 - 14 projects - yeah.......that's 64 cents per project.
Thanks to those who started following us on Instagram and Facebook.  We try to post a couple times a week.  If you have friends who would prefer to read our newsletter on the web versus receiving each week, please let them know about our blog http://sewgraceful.blogspot.com/.

See you soon!

Dallas -- here we come!

By the time you read this Darlene and Kay will be headed to Dallas to the Quilter's Guild of Dallas show.  The show will be held at the Dallas Market Hall, 2200 Stemmons Freeway.  Show hours are 10-5 Fri & Sat and 12-5 Sunday.  For more info visit http://quiltersguildofdallas.org/default.aspx.  Debby will keep the shop open regular hours Thursday and Saturday.

We are bringing several brand new samples to Dallas and we're excited to get your feedback.  If you'd like to see photos of the booth in Dallas, follow Sew Graceful on Instagram (sewgracefulquilting) and/or Facebook (Sew Graceful Quilting).  If you'd like to follow Kay on Instagram, her name is kayharmon01 (that's zero one).
We are so excited about our newest Simply 9.  It reminds us of a big puffy spring cloud.  It finishes 60" x 69".  Your $56.95 kit includes the pattern, fabric for the top and binding.   We're happy to help you select a backing for an additional $9.95 per yard.

Here's a photo of the quilt before binding - we decided to use the same fabric as the inner border for the binding.
Another fun new spring kit is "Bless Me" by Simply Put.  It's very quick and easy to stitch.  We have ours framed in a 5" x 7" frame......sorry......we don't have any of these cute frames.  Many people comment about our cute display pieces -- when we have free time we love to scour resale shops and flea markets looking for unique ways to display.

Your $11.95 kit includes the pattern, background cotton, stitchery stabilizer and wool for applique.  If you'd prefer to use your own materials, the pattern is available for $7.
Fill Your Heart kits are back in stock.  Your $32.95 kit includes the pattern, background fabric from Diamond Textiles and wool for applique.   Your finished piece fits in a 16" x 20" frame (not included).

Wools may differ slightly from the photo as some of the wools we used originally are out of print.
If you're in the Dallas area, be sure to stop by and say hello.  If not, pop over to Instagram or Facebook and visit.  See you soon!
