Spring cuteness!

You may recall last week we shared photos of the shop and encouraged you to let us know if there was something you spotted that you might have to have.  Several commented about Kay's quilt, Floral Elegance.  This reminded us we failed to share this beauty with you.

Your $104.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the quilt top and binding.  Your kit contains instructions for cutting so you don't have to piece any of the long strips.  There's a couple of advantages to not piecing the strips:  the pattern on the fabric is allowed to flow beautifully and cutting on the fabric length reduces stretch.  The quilt finishes 67 1/2" x 81".

If you'd prefer to use your own fabric, the pattern is available for $9.

The "1805 Pillow" makes a nice complementary piece to the quilt.  Your $36.95 pillow kit includes the pattern, fabric for the pillow top and backing fabric.  You supply the pillow form.  Finishes 19" x 40".

If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern is available for $9.
Debby has been very busy stitching -- we'll share one sample today and several others next week.  We love what she did Bonnie Sullivan's "Sampler" pattern.  Your $17.95 kit includes the pattern, preprinted fabric, wool, backing fabric, binding and darling red buttons for embellishment.   Finishes 10" x 12"

You'll note we said preprinted fabric -- yes.....Bonnie has created the most amazing fabric with the embroidery portion preprinted.  Debby plans to do more of these projects and we'll share them as she gets them stitched.
Darlene has also been a busy bee.  "Mr Bunny" is one of the cutest spring pieces we've seen in a long time.   It finishes 21 1/2" x 27 1/2" so is the perfect size for display in a small area or perhaps on a door.  Your $38.95 kit includes the pattern, background fabrics (Diamond Textiles), stitchery stabilizer, borders, binding and wool for applique.  Backing fabric is available separately.

If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern is available for $12.95.

We also are offering a thread kit for $17.95.  It contains Valdani perle cotton size 12.
If you've been on social media lately you've likely heard about the new wool pressing mats.  Since we wanted to try them out for ourselves, we ordered a couple.  We have one at the shop and invite you to stop in and give it a try.  After your test drive we'll be happy to special order one for you.

12" x 18" - $48.95
Last but not least.......we are so excited about our upcoming vending season.  Our season opens with the Quilters Guild of Dallas show Mar 9-11.  Please let us know by March 5 if you'd like us to bring anything special for you.  The show will be held at the Dallas Market Hall, 2200 Stemmons Freeway.  Show hours are 10-5 Fri & Sat and 12-5 Sunday.  For more info visit http://quiltersguildofdallas.org/default.aspx

Just a few weeks later, we will be in Cassville MO at the Ozark Country Quilters Guild show.  It will be held at Crowder College, 4020 N Main, April 6 (9:00-6:00) and 7 (9:00-4:00).  For more info contact Karla Kuklaw at 417-847-7468.
We have lots more spring inspired projects to share with you next week.  See you soon!

A Virtual Tour

We spent a day last week tidying up the shop and love the fresh new look.  Since many of you don't have the luxury of popping over in person, we thought we'd share some photos of the shop.  If you spot something you must have, send us an email (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call Darlene at 479-372-7403 and we'll investigate.

These pretty displays greet you as you walk in the front door.  Mary's Farmhouse, our $10 block of the month, takes center spot.  All Those Simple Things, a beautiful quilt with easy applique and embroidery, is hanging to the right.
These displays continue the entry wall.  We have only 3 kits left of the darling bunny pulling the wagon and have no plans to rekit it.  (Spring Fling $36.95)  Sigh.....all that pretty Valdani.....
We just had to keep our snowmen out!
Our back wall features a mixture of winter, fall and everyday projects -- something for everyone.
These are miscellaneous photos taken in various spots throughout the shop.
What a fun little pincushion to stitch for yourself or a friend.  Your $12.95 "Spring Welcome Pincushion" kit includes the pattern, background cotton, wool for applique and buttons.
If you're like us, you can't travel without a cute little stitching bag.  This Sew & Go bag is 4" x 5" so is the perfect size to hold a small stitchery project (like the spring pincushion kit).  The photo shows the front and reverse of the bag; cloth with a metal zipper.  Let us know how you use your bag.  $2.98
See you soon!

Spring Stitching & a New Block of the Month

What an unusual weather week we "enjoyed" since last Thursday.....sleet, ice, temps in the 60s then in the 30s all while listening to the beautiful sounds of robins, mockingbirds and cardinals.  We saw our first rabbit of the season this week so we know spring must be just around the corner.  This week we want to share a few projects to help you get in the mood for spring.

"Easter Surprise" is a perfect way to welcome spring.  Ours finishes approximately 6" x 12".  It's the perfect size for a small space in your home.  Easter is April 1 this year so you have plenty of time to get it finished - it would also be a fun little piece to tuck in a friend's Easter basket.  Your $15.95 kit includes the pattern, background cotton, backing fabric, wool and buttons.  If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern is available for $6.
We finished "Flowers in Your Garden" as a pillow but it would be equally cute finished as a small quilt.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, background fabric, wool for applique, backing fabric and buttons.
Back by popular demand is "O Holy Night" our tree skirt block of the month.  We ran this block of the month several years ago and have had numerous requests for a re-run so decided it was time to offer it.  The program will begin this March (in just a few weeks) and run for 8 months.  Cost per month is $19.95.  Each month you'll receive a pattern, fabric and wool to complete a section.  During the 8th month you'll receive binding.

The photo on the left shows the original finished skirt; the right photo shows the fabrics we've chosen for this go around.  The applique is wool stitched on black wool; background fabrics are a combination of flannel and homespun fabrics.

As you can see, we finished ours as a table topper instead of a tree skirt.
Sometimes being such visual shoppers can be a disadvantage for us.  Someone placed a special order for Elizabeth Angus' book "Cozy Wool Applique".  The cover project is cute but not something that caught our eye.  When the book arrived we flipped thought it......oh my goodness......this book is a definite keeper!  It's filled with 11 darling pillows and table runners.  At a cost of only $17.95 for the book, each project averages $1.63.  48 pages

We are placing another order.  Would you like to reserve a copy?  If so, e-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call us at 479-372-7403 or order via our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/
Hopefully you're feeling like doing some spring stitching.  We'll be back next week with more to inspire you.  See you soon!

Fun gifts - large and small

Is it just us or does it seem to be hard to believe we are well into the second month of 2018?  Time seems to fly faster than ever.

Next week is Valentine's Day and we have a fun little gift for your favorite stitching buddy.  The Sew Chic Needle & Pin Case is the perfect way to say "I'm thinking of you and I wanted to give you something that's not only cute but practical."  The case is roughly the size of a tube of lipstick, comes with 5 needles and a tiny pincushion.  Let us know if you'd prefer black, eggplant or pink.  $4.95 each
We love the versatility and timeless feel of a red and cream quilt.  Jane H recently finished making a sample of "Churning Fourteen" using a beautiful assortment of fabrics.  The pattern uses basic shapes:  squares, rectangles and triangles.  It finishes 54" x 68".  Your $74.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top and binding.  We will be happy to help you choose backing fabric for an additional $9.95 per yard.

If you'd prefer to make a larger bed size quilt we suggest you buy two kits.

If you'd prefer the quilt in another color way, the pattern is available for $12.
You'll be able to keep a record of your quilting life with this beautifully photographed journal created by Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gathering.  The journal is packed with hundreds of photos of quilts to enjoy year-round (no patterns are included).  It's small enough to carry along in your bag on the go.  $14.99
Last but not least we'd like to share another fun, but practical, item.  Our new sheep tape measure is crocheted and includes a 60" tape measure.  It is 2 1/2" so is the perfect size to tuck in your stitching bag.  Hint......it would make a great Valentine's Day or Easter gift.  $10.50
We've noticed several trees loaded with buds so know spring is just around the corner.  We'll be back next week with more to inspire you.  See you soon!
