Making Music wall hanging

Kay had a great time at the quilt show in Claremore last week.  The cooler temps earlier in the week had many excited about the prospect of cooler weather and winter stitching.  We're sharing a few photos of the booth.  If you see something you'd like info about, please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com
Before we share a new project, we have an administrative type of issue to share.  A couple of our samples have gone missing.  We noticed Kay's "Sewing Book" designed by Rebekah Smith missing fromthe shop 4-6 weeks ago.  The "Know your Needles" book disappeared during a recent quilt show.  If you'd take a minute and check your bags, we'd appreciate it.  We are hoping one (or both) of these items were mixed into a stack of merchandise and accidentally ended up in a bag.
On to the fun stuff......inspiration.  Our "Making Music: wall hanging was a hit at the show in Claremore.  Kay ran out of kits but has made more.  Your $23.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top (fabrics will vary slightly from those pictured), binding and buttons.  Finishes 18" x 18".
You could easily have our newest kit "Snowman in Stocking" finished in time for holiday decorating.  It finishes 7 1/2" x 14 1/2".  Your $18.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top, wool for applique, border, binding and backing fabric.  The 8" twisted wire hanger is sold separately for $3.95.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section are featuring our last two kits for Buttermilk Basin's Boo.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, toweling and wool for applique.

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.
This week for our Sample Sale we are selling Hen House.  The piece features wool applique on a cotton background.  5" x 12"  $29.95 plus shipping

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.
We'll be back next week with more to inspire you.  See you soon!

We have a great new stitching resource for you

We had a great time visiting with everyone who stopped by the shop last week.  Many were in the area for the annual craft fairs and made a stop at Sew Graceful.  Thank you!  We are so happy we rated a stop during your visit to the area.

By the time you read this, Kay will be packed and on her way to Claremore OK for the Country Fare Quilters Guild show.  The guild is celebrating 40 years.  Can you imagine how many quilts have been made during that 40 years!  For details about the show, please visit https://www.countryfarequiltersguild.org/quilt-show/.

Our shipment of Quiltmania magazines arrived.  If you're on auto ship, Debby has processed your order.  If you haven't received your magazine, please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com.  It's very likely your credit card couldn't be processed.  We'd hate you to miss an issue of this great magazine.

Issue 151 contains instructions for 6 projects as well as the usual articles highlighting a talented designer, exhibitions from around the world and the "Quilts Home Tour" column.  $16.99
We'll be honest.......we ordered the next book by accident; however, when Kay flipped through the pages she commented "I must have this book.  It is the most comprehensive book detailing embroidery stitches I've seen in a long time."

Christen Brown's "Hand Embroidery Dictionary" breaks down more than 500 stitches from the basics for beginners to more complex designs for advanced stitchers. Stitches range from Lazy Daisy, French Knot, Herringbone, Capped, Chevron, and so much more.  Each stitch comes with step-by-step instructions.

Christen also explains how to change the position of the stitch and use the distance between points to create stunning embroidery.  She also includes tips and instructions for left-handed embroiderers.

Pre-order your copy by visiting our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ or e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com.  160 pages $29.95
Here's an example of stitch diagrams.  Notice they are diagrammed for both left and right-handed stitchers.
The brisk temps we've endured the past few days remind us that the holiday season is right around the corner.  We often struggle trying to decide the perfect gift for the friend or family member who has everything.  A hand embroidered tea towel is an inexpensive and quick to make gift.

Your $14.95 kit for Sweet as Pie includes the pattern and tea towel.  We have included a close-up photo so you can see just how darling it is.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section are featuring our last couple kits for The Santa, The Tree, The Turkey and Me by Hatched and Patched.  Kits include the pattern, Diamond Textile fabrics for the backgrounds, wool for applique, border, binding and the Valdani thread (size 12) needed to complete the project.  The quilt finishes 36" x 42".  $227.95

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.
This week for our Sample Sale we are selling a cute little wallhanging or table mat.  The background is flannel and wool is applique.  7" x 7"  $22 plus shipping

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.

Christmas inspiration

Is it just us or does it feel like fall has finally arrived?  The changing leaves, squirrels dashing to gather acorns and the fall craft fairs this week all signal fall to us.  Several asked whether we would have extended hours and/or a booth at a show.  We will be open regular days and hours (Thursday & Saturday 9:00-3:00) but will be happy to work with you on an appointment basis.  Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403 to schedule.  With keeping the shop open regular hours, our quilting business and family commitments, we decided we would be stretched too thin by committing to a booth.

However, Kay will be at the show in Claremore OK next Friday and Saturday (Oct 21 & 22).  For details, please visit https://www.countryfarequiltersguild.org/quilt-show/.  While you're at the website, be sure to scroll down to see photos of the winning quilts from the 2021 show.

If you'd like Kay to bring a specific item(s), please e-mail us by Oct 18 with your list.
This week we are sharing a sweet small quilt, All Hearts.  It features easy piecing, wool applique and a little embroidery.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern (with our changes), fabrics for the quilt top, wool for applique, borders, binding and the darling hand painted reindeer button designed by Lynette Anderson. It finishes 15 1/4" x 15 1/4".
We received a cute Christmas inspired book from David and Charles Publishing, Christmas at Cowslip by Jo Colwill.  The book is a compilation of the best festive sewing projects from Jo Colwill's two books:  Cushions and Quilts and Patchwork Quilts and Gifts. We weren't familiar with her work but will be keeping an eye open for future creations.  96 pages, 8 1/2" x 11", $19.99
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section are featuring our last Simply 20 kit.  The kit contains Diamond Textile fabrics to make a 64" x 80" quilt. Binding is included.  Fabrics may vary slightly from those pictured.  The kit is a great deal at $78.95.

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.
This week for our Sample Sale we are selling Words of Wisdom 1.  This sweet wall hanging was designed and made by Debby.  It features Kansas Troubles fabrics   23" x 23"  $50 plus shipping

Fall Quiltmania publications have arrived

Before we jump in with quilty news, we want to share a couple of administrative items.  The annual Bikes, Blues and BBQ event started Tuesday and runs through the weekend (Oct 5-8).  The event moved from Fayetteville to Rogers this year and experts expect upwards of 300,000 visitors to the area.  If you are planning a trip to the shop, some streets in the downtown area are closed and Exit 86 is a focal point for many events.  We aren't trying to discourage a trip to see us......just want you to be aware there may be congestion.

Several have inquired about whether we will have extended hours next week as the annual fall craft fairs kick off next week (Oct 12 - 16).  We will be open our regular hours (9:00-3:00) Thursday, Oct 13, and Saturday, Oct 15.  However, if you're in the area and would like to set up an appointment outside those days/hours, please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403.  We'll try to accommodate you.
The fall issue of Simply Vintage last week.  It's jammed with 16 projects ranging from quilts to punch needle to a darling stuffed scarecrow featuring a pumpkin head.  The magazine contains 16 projects.  $20.99
This beautiful quilt designed by Deb of The Cottage Rose is featured in the magazine.
This quilt is also featured in the magazine.  We visualize making this using Diamond Textile in muted colors to give it an aged look......so many possibilities!
We also received our shipment of Simply Moderne magazines.  This issue may be our favorite yet.  We're including photos of two of our favorite quilts.  10 projects - $20.99

If you're on auto ship for either Simply Vintage or Simply Moderne (or both), Debby has processed your subscription.

This week we're sharing a sweet pincushion or bowl filler you will be able to sew up in a matter of minutes.  It features a darling Santa from Moda fabrics.  Your $4.95 "Vintage Santa" kit includes instructions, fabrics for the top and backing fabric.

This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section are featuring our last few kits for Nature's Grace.  Your $29.95 kit includes the pattern (with our changes), French General toweling and wool for applique. The runner finishes 16 1/2" x 43".  We also have a couple patterns available ($9) if you'd prefer to use your own materials.  We also have toweling available in several colors.  Let us know if you'd like more info about available toweling.

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.
