Super snuggle quilt

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped us celebrate our birthday on Saturday.  It was great to see everyone.  We look forward to many more birthday celebrations.

Since we are still in winter mode, we want to share a super comfy flannel quilt.  Debby sewed the top together in a matter of a couple of hours -- it's that easy.  Fabrics are flannels from Primitive Gatherings.  If you've not had a chance to touch and feel Lisa's flannels, you're in for sensory overload.  They're sooooo soft.  Your $49.95 kit (Flannel Squares) includes all fabric to make the top and binding.  We'll be happy to help you choose a backing fabric.  Quilt finishes 57" x 66".
At the opposite end of the size spectrum is our "Miniature Spools" quilt.  It finishes 8 1/2" x 11".  Your $19.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top, binding and buttons.  The flowers in the border are actually tiny buttons -- so cute!  We chose to display ours on an Ackfeld hanger.  It's available for $7.95.  You can order on line by visiting our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ or e-mail us (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403.
If you know Kay, you know she is a scissor fanatic.  She buys every new pair of scissors that comes out.  She called us the other day telling us we must order Karen K Buckley's newest pair of scissors.  Karen's Perfect Utility Scissors are perfect for cutting templates, stabilizer and fabric with stabilizer.  We think they'll also be perfect for cutting the Hugs and Kisses paper (for those who use the Apliquick method).  The blades are stainless steel; the handles are the same soft handles as found in the previous Perfect Scissors.  As if that weren't enough to entice one, they cut to the point and include a protective cover.  They're made for both right and left handed people.

We have some on order so let us know if we can reserve a pair for you.  $26.95
This week we had the pleasure of hosting a quilting group at the shop.  It reminded us to let you know we are more than happy to host your quilting group.  We can work with you on dates -- just let us know.
We'll be back next week with more to inspire you.  See you soon!

New magazine arrivals

It seems like just a few months ago that we opened our doors but in a few days we'll be celebrating our 7th birthday.  How time flies!  We are planning a big birthday celebration on Saturday, Jan 27 from 9:00-3:00.  We'll have refreshments and plan to celebrate with a sale.  We're still working out the details and will share the specifics next week.

In the interim, mark your calendar and plan to join us on the 27th.
The new issue of Quiltmania (#123) arrived and it's packed with great projects.  As usual, the photography is over the top great.  Below is a photo of the cover and a collage of some of our favorite projects from the magazine.  If you're on automatic to receive the magazine, Debby is processing your order.  If you're not on auto ship and would like to be, please e-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403.

Cost is $13.99 - you can also order on our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/
Our favorite UPS guy brought our shipment of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine this week.  Every time we receive a shipment from Judy, Jeni and Gretchen (the sweet sisters who own the magazine), we can't help but be a bit nostalgic.  We remember how excited we were to learn they were publishing a magazine devoted to those who love the primitive look.......we've carried every single issue of the magazine from the beginning.

This issue contains 16 projects ranging in size from small to large.  One of the things that is especially appealing about Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine is the range of project sizes -- there's something for everyone.

A great value at $9.99 -- that's 63 cents per project.  The magazine is also available on our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/

If you're on auto ship, Debby has you covered.  If you're not on auto ship and would like to be, email (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403.
With a new year many of us look toward organizing our stitching area.  We have found the Bobbinsaver to be a very handy organizational tool.  It works great for holding bobbins used in your sewing machine but we love using it to hold our Valdani bobbins......no more tangled bobbin nests.  $9.95
We'll be back next week with details of our birthday celebration.  In the interim, don't forget to save the date - Jan 27.  See you soon!

Snowball fun

What a roller coaster of weather we've experienced so far this year!  Temps from the 50s to the teens with rain, sleet and freezing fog thrown into the mix.

Last week we promised to share a super darling snowman quilt.  The "Snowball Fun" pattern is by Lynette Anderson so features her typically whimsical applique.  We changed the pattern a bit and did the applique in wool.  Your $64.95 kit includes the pattern with full size templates, fabric for the top, wool for applique, borders, buttons and binding.  Quilt finishes 43" x 52".
We're not sure how but we missed sharing a new Quiltmania book with you.  Louise Lott & Lisa Kerr have created a wonderful assortment of 17 quilts combining piecing and applique.  $49.95

We will be placing an order for "Vintage Quilts & Friendship" early next week so e-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403 if you'd like us to reserve a copy for you.
If you were on social media during the holiday season, you probably saw the primitive wool trees.  Sharon Phillips has agreed to host a workshop so you can make your own wool tree.  The tree is not restricted to Christmas - we can see cute spring ornaments and patriotic summer ornaments and fall ornaments......you get the idea!

The workshop will be at Sew Graceful on Weds, Feb 7 from 9:30 until 2:00.  Bring your lunch (we now have a big frig).  We are working on dying wool and getting everything together to make the kits.  Once we finalize costs, we'll let you know.

E-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403 if you'd like to sign up.
Before we close we must share one more cute snowman piece with you, Seasons One.  This piece finishes 10 1/2" x 10 1/2" so is the perfect size to fit on a 10" Ackfeld stand.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, cotton fabric, wool for applique, buttons and binding.

The pattern, Season One, includes instructions to make a cute spring wall hanging.  Supplies for the spring wall hanging are not included; however, we will be happy to put together a kit for you.
If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern with buttons is available for $12.95.  The photo below shows the two patterns included in Seasons One.
One weather related note - if Rogers schools are closed, the shop will be closed.  If you're in doubt about whether we are open, please call us at 479-374-7403.
We'll be back next week with more to inspire you.  See you soon!

2018 if off to a great start

We hope your 2018 is off to a great start.  We have lots of things planned for the year and can't wait to share them with you as the year progresses.  We enjoyed our break but missed visiting with everyone.  During our break, we spent one day putting away Christmas and resetting the front area with snowmen projects.
Even though the weather is freezing, the spring issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine will be here soon.  Kay's project, Bees in the Meadow, is the first in a series of 4 seasonal table runners.  Each runner will finish 23"x 42".  It would also make a cute wall hanging or a nice cover for the foot of your bed.

Kay used fabric from Diamond Textiles' Nikko fabric line for all the flowers.  Your kit will include an assortment of every fabric in the line.

The kit includes fabric to make the top and binding ($38.95); the pattern is available in the spring 2018 issue of Primitive Quilts & Projects ($9.99); an optional Valdani perle cotton #12 thread kit is available for $29.70.
From the sneak peeks we've received, it looks like 2018 will be the year for great books.  Kathy Cardiff's book "A Cottage Garden" will be available in Feb.  It contains a variety of projects including pillows, sewing notions, table toppers and a wall quilt.  The info we received says it for wool lovers -- so we know it's going to be great!  96 pages, $28.99

Let us know if we can reserve a copy for you.
Jo Morton's new book "Jo's Little Favorites III" is scheduled for release in March.  It contains 16 projects previously available to Jo's Little Women Club members.  It also includes photos of Jo's 1920's era bungalow showing how she displays her quilts in her home.  96 pages, $27.99
We'll be back next week with close up photos of one of the sweetest snowman quilts we've ever seen.  See you soon!

Great last minute gift ideas

Many of you are probably getting into high gear for the upcoming holidays so we will get right to it.  This week we want to share some great last minute gifts.

Who couldn't use a weekly planner?  Especially when it's filled with photos of beautiful quilty creations.  We have a few Quiltmania agendas left - $9.95 each.
If the special person you're buying for is a Kansas Troubles fan, they will surely love Lynne's newest book "Cozy Quilts & Comforts".  The 96 pages are filled with a variety of quilts in typical Lynne style.  $27.99
Tins make a fun gift....especially when they're filled with a little surprise.  These could hold a sweet treat, a little sewing kit, notes of encouragement -- get creative and have fun filling them.  $2.25 each
These Moda tins are just the right size to hold a package of mini clips.  $9.20 (tin is $2.25; clips are $6.95)
If you're diabetic like Darlene, the contents of your tin could literally be life saving.
Darlene recently completed the most adorable little Christmas wall hanging.  Your "Santa's Treats" kit includes the pattern, wool for applique, background cotton, binding and buttons.  Kit is only $15.95 - what a great stocking stuffer gift!
Last, but certainly not least, we have a few Yoko Saito signed copies of her Mystery Quilt pattern.  While Kay was at quilt market she asked Yoko to sign a few copies for us.  Please note the signature is near the end of the book instead of where we typically see signatures.  $29.95 - first come, first served
One administrative note - we will be closed from Monday, Dec 25 - Monday Jan 1.  We will reopen Tuesday, Jan 2.

We'll be back next week with a few more holiday ideas.  See you soon.

New t-shirts - great holiday gifts

We had a great time at our holiday open house last Saturday - it was so much fun catching up with everyone.  We'd hoped for a crisp day but Mother Nature sent us a day in the 70s.  Here's a couple of photos from the event.
We are very excited to share what we've been working on for a few weeks.  We now have long sleeve t-shirts and sweatshirts.  What a great unique Christmas gift for your special friend (or for yourself!)   These are not your usual t-shirts that shrink after the first wash and almost fall apart after the 5th wash.  They are comfort cotton shirts in a nice heavy weight with a stonewashed look.....perfect for these chilly days.

It was very difficult to choose colors but we thought brick, pepper and denim would best suit our look. It's almost impossible for us to get a photo with true colors so use your imagination and muddy the colors in the photo.  We have sizes ranging from medium to 3XL in both long sleeves and sweatshirts.  Email (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403 and we'll check our inventory.

Long sleeve tees are $26.95; sweatshirts are $46.95
Our friend Jean A made us this sweet table runner.  The applique is a mixture of cotton and wool to give an added dimension to the piece.  The pattern is found in Quiltmania #98 which is included in your kit.  Your $32.95 kit includes the magazine, background cotton and cotton & wool for applique.  The black background fabric is a wonderful new fabric from Moda - it feels like wool but is cotton.

It's not too late to finish this for Christmas this year.....especially if you're staying home and stitching while wearing your new Sew Graceful shirt.......LOL.
If you'd prefer to use your own materials, we have the magazine available for $13.99.
Ornaments obviously work well for Christmas trees, but how about tucking them in the bow on a holiday package?  They also work equally well when tied to a gift bag.  Debby made a set of darling ornaments which will work in a variety of applications.  Your $24.95 kit includes the Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine with patterns, background cottons, wool, buttons and 2 small embroidery hoops
We have more holiday themed projects to share with you.  We'll be back next week with more to inspire you.  See you soon.
