Lots of inexpensive stocking stuffers

Mother Nature surprised us with a very nice snowfall on Sunday.  We wish she would have waited a couple of weeks so we could have had a white Christmas.  It was a lot of fun to watch the grandchildren play.  We know many of you are finishing up holiday activities so thought we'd share some ideas for inexpensive and unique stocking stuffers for yourself or your stitching buddies.

The first items are the sweetest little pincushions made from antique glass salt dips.  First, a little history of this unique item.  Archeologists can document the use of salt dips as early as classical Rome.  They continued to be used through the first half of the twentieth century.  With the introduction of free flowing salt in 1911, their usage began to decline.  They have been replaced by salt shakers.

Each "Salt Dip" kit includes instructions for finishing your pincushion, the antique glass salt dip, vintage inspired fabric and a mother of pearl star button.  Sizes vary but each dip is approximately 1 3/4" wide.  Each kit is $19.95.  We will not be able to get more of these unique kits so once they're gone, they're gone.

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com with the letter of the kit you would like to purchase.
For the animal lover on your list, how about a note pad with pen?  Note pad measures 4" x 8".  $5.95
The Dog Mom credit card case is not only adorable but includes an identity theft blocker.  It measures .75" x 3" x 4.5".  $6.95
For the pencil and paper kind of person, how about a journal.  It's sad to us that sitting with pencil and paper is becoming a lost art.  Using a pretty journal would be a great way to keep memories of 2021 documented.  Each is $14.99

A Quilter's Journal (shown on the left) is by Lisa Bongean; Simple Reflections (shown on the right) is by Kim Diehl.
If you're like us, you can never have too many tins.  We have a tin for on the go sewing supplies, one for a sweet treat when we reach that afternoon lull, one to carry doggie treats in the car to keep our furry friends content......the sky is the limit.  We have two styles available:  the multicolor patchwork and the red patchwork.  Each has a hinged lid and measures 2 1/2" x 3".  $2.45 each
The next three items are all mother of pearl thread winders.  Thread winders have been around since ancient times and are used for winding thread around.  Many were made of mother of pearl.  While these aren't antique, they would make a special gift for a stitching friend.  The designer of these has let us know she will no longer be offering mother of pearl winders as mother of pearl has increased in cost.  So once these are gone, we won't be able to get more.

Blackbird thread winder - 3 per pack - 2.25" wide x .85" high  $9.50
Hare Thread Winder - 2 per pack - 2.75" wide x .75" high  $9.50
Ewe Thread Winder - 2 per pack - 2.25" wide x 1.5" high - $9.50
Next we have a set of 4 sewing themed charms.  These would be nice additions to a charm bracelet or would be nice charms for a necklace.  Being the practical sort of people we are we think they'd be darling used as embellishments on a pincushion.  The set of 4 is $6.95.
Our final gift idea is our primitive sheep scissors.  These are so cute you probably will want a pair for yourself and a pair for each of your friends.  They are dark charcoal so have that pretty antique look we like so well.  3.75" - $11.50
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section, we are featuring a Bonnie Sullivan pattern/kit.  You may recall Bonnie uses the nice pre-stamped fabric to create many of her designs.  You simply add wool or fabric and do a little stitching and you have a beautiful piece.  We have one pattern available; however, we are able to get more.  $18.00 includes the pattern and prestamped fabric to make 12 ornaments.

Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com to reserve.  Once we sell the pattern we have in stock we will take your information and place our order early next year.

Before we close we want to let you know Cabin in the Cabins kits are back in stock.  Some fabric and some wool has been discontinued but we have chose nice replacements.  Kits are ready to ship - $64.95
