New Diamond Textile fabric is on the way

In keeping with our thought that spring is just around the corner, we want to share our newest pattern "Garden Bunny".  Your $16.95 kit includes the pattern, blue wool for the sky, wool for applique, background cotton, buttons (flower button colors will vary with each kit) and backing fabric.  It finishes 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" so fits perfectly on an Ackfeld table stand.  We have the stands available for $19.95.
We are super excited about Diamond Textiles' new line, Nikko Indigo Granite.  Rohni sent us fabric samples and when we saw them we absolutely positively couldn't resist buying the entire line.  The fabric will ship late March and in the interim we are taking preorders for fat quarter, 1/2 yard bundles and 1 yard bundles.  If you like shades of charcoal and indigo, you will be like us and fall in love with every last fabric in the line.

Each bundle contains 30 fabrics -- fat quarter bundles are $82.50, 1/2 yard bundles are $150 and 1 yard bundles $300.  You can place your order on line by visiting https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/.  You may also e-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403 to place your order.

The photos below show a sampling of the line.  To see the entire line and close up photos of each fabric, visit http://www.diamondtextilesusa.com/.  Once you're at the site, click on Collections, then click on Nikko Indigo Granite on the sidebar on the left side of the page.
We are also taking pre-orders for Quiltmania's newest book, Labors of Love.  Over 20 years ago in Australia a group of ladies with a love of quilting began meeting.  Di Ford often led teaching workshops with the group.  In 2018, the Secret Sisters along with several other well known quilters including Petra Prins decided to recreate antique quilts from Jane Lury's book.  "Labors of Love" is the result.

The book includes patterns for 12 quilts.  234 pages.  We expect shipment by mid April.  $62.95
We are finally getting around to adding items to our "Quilts for Sale" tab on our website.  Our web developer added the tab last year but time got away from us.  With spring cleaning, we are finding treasures to add.  We'll keep you updated as we add items.

Below is a just one of the items you'll see if you visit https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/index.html  Be sure to click on the small thumbnail photos below the main item photo for close up details.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring a couple of preprinted panels by All Through the Night.  Each is $12 and includes the pattern which is stamped on the striped fabric pictured.  You will need to supply your own wool and threads.  Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403 with you choice.
If you're in the eastern Tennessee area, why not make plans to stop by the quilt show in Pigeon Forge March 20-23.  For more info, visit https://www.mypigeonforge.com/event/quiltfest  Kay will be in booth 45.

Hope we see you soon!

New spring kits

Mother Nature certainly played a trick on us this past week.  We thought the snow we got Sunday was all we'd get so were very surprised to wake up to enough snow on Monday to close schools.....this Saturday we are supposed to be in the 60s with possible storms.  What a roller coaster!

Several of you have called and emailed inquiring about whether we will be at the Dallas show this weekend.  Unfortunately, we will miss it this year.  We applied for a spot at the show in Pigeon Forge, TN (March 20-23) but were denied.  We don't know what happened but about a month later we received an invitation to the show.  Since we've never been to a show in TN, we felt we should accept.  We are a very small shop with a staff of 3 (5 if you include our mother and Kay's sister who helps behind the scenes) and doing two shows in a span of two weeks would be too much for us.

Since spring is right around the corner, we want to share a couple of really sweet projects sure to get you in the mood for warmer weather.  When we saw the pattern for "Common Threads" we knew we wanted to change it.  Your $26.95 kit includes the design stamped on sandcastle fabric, a Moda mini charm pack, binding, Valdani perle cotton threads, a needle, backing fabric and binding.  It finishes 8" x 12".

The cute hanger is also available for $10.45.  We think it's the perfect complement to our piece.
If you'd prefer to stitch and finish the design as the designer intended, the pattern which contains the prestamped sandcastle background fabric, threads and a needle is available for $16.  Please note, our changes to the pattern and fabrics are not included.
"Bunny Garden" by Lynette Anderson is such a darling spring piece.  Your $36.95 kit includes Lynette's pattern, fabrics for the top, stitchery background, binding and buttons.  It finishes 12 1/2" x 14" and fits perfectly on an Ackfeld table stand.  The stand is available separately for $26.95.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring a pattern by Buttermilk Basin.  Your $16.95 kit includes the pattern, a tea towel and wool for applique.  We have only a few kits left -- let us know if you'd prefer red or blue striping on the towel.   Please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403 with your color choice and we'll get your order processed.
We'll be back next week with one of our designs to share.  It's super cute.  Hope we see you soon!

New pincushion kit

We are moving to the time of year where we have a couple of nice warm days followed by several freezing cold days.  We enjoyed the warm temperatures earlier this week but will also enjoy the freezing weather next week.....we'll use the time to start a new project.

We've been busy making new pincushions and are excited to share our newest creation, Tomato Pincushion.  Your $12.95 kit includes the pattern, background cotton, stitchery stabilizer, wool for applique and backing fabric.  It also includes the tape measure ribbon, the adorable black safety pin and a decorative button topped straight pin (colors will vary with each kit).  If you'd prefer to use your own materials, the pattern is available for $9.  You may purchase the kit by visiting https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/

If you'd like us to put a Valdani thread kit together for you, please let us know by e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com or calling 479-372-7403.
Kay had so much fun making Lynette Anderson's "Willowcase Needlecase".  Lynette's patterns are very well written with clear instructions.  Your $29.95 kit includes the pattern, all fabrics for the case, wool for applique, and the tape measure which you'll learn how to cover.
The spring issue of Wool Works magazine arrived.  $10.99
Here's a sampling of projects contained in the current Wool Works magazine.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring "Fairhaven" by Dawn Heese.  We like many of Dawn's patterns but think this one is super spectacular.....probably because it features applique in our primitive look.  The quilt finishes 79" x 79".

The pattern contains individually packaged patterns with full size templates.  $44.95 for the entire pattern

If you'd like to order the pattern, please e-mail info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403.  We'll also be happy to put together a kit for you.
Our long awaited shipment of Yazzii bags arrived yesterday -- unfortunately, the aqua bag won't ship until April.  If you preordered a bag, Debby is processing your order today.  If you didn't preorder but would like a bag, let us know.  We will fill our preorders first but possibly will have a few left over from this shipment.

We have more on order and plan to bring them to our vending events.  $21.50 each
If you're interested in vintage and antique quilts and their history, you may want to check out the MOKA (Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas) Quilt Study Group.  The bi-yearly meeting will be held in Fayetteville AR on April 12 and 13.  The agenda includes The Trials of Sunbonnet Sue, a presentation by Margo Krager (owner/designer of Reproduction Fabrics.com), Linda Pumphrey's presentation on Fabric Archiving, hot new stuff from the 1930s and show and tell.

For more info, contact Ardith Wharry ardith.wharry@gmail.com or 479-936-4026.

Deadline for reservations is March 22.
We'll be back next week with more to share.  Hope we see you soon!

Antique Salt Cellars

We have a lot to share this week so will jump right in.  We received a shipment of the absolutely cutest little antique salt dips (often called salt cellars) used to make pincushions.  Each salt dip is approximately 1" high and from 1 1/2" to 2" side to side.  Your $19.95 kit includes the pattern, the antique salt dip, a piece of primitive inspired fabric and a real mother of pearl star button.

The first photo below shows the finished product; the remaining 6 photos show some of the kits available.  We have some extra duplicate kits so if you are interested in more than one of the same style please email (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) or call 479-372-7403 and we will see what we have available.

To place an order, please e-mail or call with the kit number.
This week we want to share a kit Debby designed, Words of Wisdom 2 or WOW 2.  We think the sentiment on this is timeless.  Your $24.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top, binding and the darling red flower buttons used in the border.  The fabrics in your kit will vary slightly from what is shown below but the feel and coloration is the same.

You can order by going to our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ or calling 479-372-7403 or e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com.
We know many of you have been eagerly anticipating the next news we want to share --- Sandcastle fabric is now being produced and we have it in stock.  For those who have never used Sandcastle fabric, it is heavier than regular cotton fabric and looks like it has been quilted.  It's great as a background for embroidery or applique (both cotton and wool).  It also is the perfect weight for garments.

We had a hard time choosing only 3 colors to start with but decided on the ones with the ** below.  It's hard to get a good photograph of the fabric so we are showing the color card and the individual swatches below.  The colors on the color card are actually more true -- the closeup swatch photos show the beautiful texture of the fabric.

The fabric is approximately 42" wide - $14.95 per yard.
This week for our "when it's gone, it's gone" section we are featuring patterns from Cricket Street Wool.  Some of you may know that Carolyn, the owner of Cricket Street Wool, suffered a stroke last year.  Her patterns are no longer in print so we decided to sell what we have.

Santa Village finishes 20" - $9.50
Santa & Gang tree skirt - 19" - $9.50
Thomas table mat - 9" x 22" - $9.50
Cricket Town USA - 17" - $9.50
We'll be back next week with more to share.  Hope we see you soon!

Spring Socks

First things first.....we had an oops with a piece of wool in the 2nd month block of  Fairytale Cottages (our $10 block of the month for 2019).  Thanks to those who let us know.  We will send wool to fix the problem with your month 3 shipment.  However, if you need the correction now please e-mail (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) and we will get it sent right out.

Also, we are completely out of the blue stripe backing fabric.  It sold out within a couple of days and, unfortunately, we aren't able to get more.  If you don't like the other backing option, feel free to look on our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ and choose something else.  Just e-mail us (info@sewgracefulquilting.com) with your choice and we'll send it with your next shipment.

Whew!  We feel better now that we've shared those two tidbits of info.

When Kay unpacked from her trip to Ponca City, she rearranged the shop.  We love the new spring feel and wanted to share photos with you.
This week we want to share a kit from one of our favorite designers, Norma Whaley.  When we met Norma years ago at quilt market, we knew she was our kind of designer.  "Counting Sheep" is a timeless piece with a reminder we think of often.  Your $28.95 kit includes the pattern, background cotton, binding and wool for applique.  Please note the fabric and wool in your kit will not be an exact match to the quilt shown below.  It's been a while since we made the sample and some of the fabric and wool is no longer available.  The quilt finishes 12 1/2" x 26".

You can order by going to our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ or calling 479-372-7403 or e-mailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com.
Shortly after we met Norma we decided to offer her Sweet and Simple pattern as a block of the month.  That block of the month is long sold out but we do have the book available.  The quilt finishes 76" x 90"

Let us know if we can reserve a copy of Sweet and Simple for you.  $34
You may know Kay is a sock-a-holic......she has to try every sock we see offered through our distributors.  She raved so much about the newest socks from Moda that we had to give them a try.  She was right---they're wonderful socks.  We're not sure how the manufacturer pulled it off but they fit our size 5 and 6 feet as well as they fit her size 10 foot.....it's like magic.

The socks are 75" cotton, 23" nylon and 2" spandex so shrinking is minimal.  $13.95 per pair

Scissors --- Sittin' Pretty
Eat, Sleep, Quilt --- Wound Tight --- Cardio
Our "last kit" this week features a cute sewing case.  Your $24.95 "Cottage Clutch" kit includes the pattern and wool to make the clutch.  Buttons are not included in the kit.

The photo on the left shows the clutch folded, the upper right photo shows the inside of the clutch and the lower right shows the outside.
Last week we told you we'd share a super darling sewing set but we'll save that for next week since this is getting quite long.  See you soon!

New Yazzii Project Pouch bags

Hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy a few days of springlike weather this past week.  We noticed buds on several neighborhood trees and that our irises have started growing.  Unfortunately, these tender growths are going to need quilts if the weather that's predicted happens.

Our newest quilt, Home is Best, will keep you warm during these last few months of winter.  The majority of it is made with Diamond Textiles' brushed cotton line Hickory Ridge.  The fabric has a brushed side which feels almost like flannel and a nonbrushed side which feels like a regular woven fabric.  We chose the brushed side as the exposed side so our quilt is super soft.  The applique backgrounds are printed cotton and the applique is wool.  The quilt finishes 53" x 62".  Your $76.95 kit includes the pattern, fabrics for the top, wool for applique, border and binding.

If you'd prefer to use your own supplies, the pattern is available for $9.

Reserve your kit by going to our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ or emailing info@sewgracefulquilting.com or calling 479-372-7403.
Do you ever order something with certain expectations but when you receive it you are blown away with how far it exceeded your expectations?  Darlene recently ordered a new Yazzii project pouch to help organize her sewing bag.  She said she expected it would be nice but it far exceeded what she expected out of it.  She was so excited that we decided to carry them in the shop.

The project pouch contains 7 pockets; 5 have see through plastic so you can see contents.  The plastic is gusseted to hold larger items.  The closed size is 5 1/4" x 8 1/2" -- the perfect size to slip in your pocketbook or sewing bag.  Available colors include fuchsia, aqua, green or purple.  $21.50 each.

Apparently others have found them useful as they're on backorder with an anticipated delivery date of late Feb.  We are taking preorders -- visit our website https://www.sewgracefulquilting.com/ or email info@sewgracefulquilting.com or call 479-372-7403 and we'll get you on the list.
Our "when it's gone, it's gone" kit this week is by Simply Put.  It finishes 8" x 10" so could be finished as a small wall hanging like ours or be framed.  We have only one kit left - $12.95.
For those doing our Fairytale Cottage $10 block of the month.  This month you received your second block with fabric swatches.  The swatches are choices for backing fabric for the quilt -- not background fabrics as stated on the handout.  Our fingers got ahead of our brain when we typed the handout -- sorry for the confusion.

On a side note -- if you prefer something totally different for your backing fabric feel free to browse fabric on our website and give us a call.  We'll be happy to substitute whatever you'd like.
Kay had a great time visiting with the quilt guild members in Ponca City Oklahoma.  We're excited so many people are excited about wool.

We'll be back next week with a super darling sewing set.  See you soon!
